nah they are not too too bad… Regular price would be $280, compare to $400 - $600 for a brand name. The SAKS outlets have them marked down to $170 and then you can pick them up at sales for about $125 after tax which is very very reasonable for such a quality shoe.

i used mine for work for over two years of daily abuse of all kinds and they took it like a champ. if i was ever going to get another pair of work boots i wouldnt hesitate to get them again.
i dont need to though because i still use my original pair

On my 3rd year with these shit kickers. Timberland Gore-Tex. Still in great shape, and still keeping my feet dry. Lovem.
Those tactical boots are good but if you end up at the wrong military surplus shop, you’ll get a Chinese knock-off version with no ankle support. I’m trying to find a good pair of British issued paratrooper boots that’re actually mil-spec. They have the zipper down the inside so you don’t have to relace them every time you put them on. They’ve been repro’d tons of times but they don’t have the same structure.
