Father's day..post a pict of your Dad

My father. Born in 1920, passed away in 1970, when i was 14.:frowning: . This picture was taken of him in 1944 on an island in the South Pacific. My Mom gave me my Dads photo albums with all of his war pictures. For a christmas gift 5 years ago, my wife had this picture enlarged,a nd we gave framed copies to my 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
My Dad instilled my love of cars in me at an early age. I was always in the garage"helping" him work on his carsā€¦his '55 chevy, his '57 Ford, his '57 Plymouth(think Christineā€¦LOL), his '60 Chevy, and the car i learned how to drive onā€¦his '69 Chevelle:D . Unfortunatly, my Dad never got the chance to teach me how to drive, as he died when i was a freshman in HS. I still miss my Dad, and i would hope that all of you who still have your dad, let him know that he is ā€œthe manā€.

Iā€™m so proud of him (which is why Iā€™m posting, since I rarely do). Since this pic, he has lost 150 pounds to become a healthy 225 lbs for his frame through surgery, exercise, and greatly improved diet. He is a car and motorcycle lover, and he and i have been working on his 1972 el camino and my 1985 el camino whenever i get the chance to visit him and my mom in va (two slow-moving works-in-progress, lol).
okay, thatā€™s enough of the heartwarming description of my dad.

Theres my biological dad, Lewis Kolar. Heā€™s been into cars, bikes, fishing, shooting and all forms of racing ever since I can remember. He currently has a 1978 Vette with the L-82 package, and a Harley 1200cc sportster. The vette is painted the same dark cherry color as the bike.

Heh, I think Iā€™m in 3rd grade in that picture. That was taken at the old convention center, oddly enough you can make out the Stillen 300zx on the left side. (excuse the quality, i took a picture of the picture with my cell since i dont have a scanner here)

 Edit - You can see the display for the nissan 240sx booth on the left side also on the white banner.

heres my dad from last year at pittsburgh penn. motor speedway (the one in purple)
