picked this up from another board… thought it was a funny idea.
my dad used to be cool, but then he had a bunch of kids and has an hour and a half commute everyday.
he is a serious ricer now,
92 civic sedan, with altezza’s and denji projectors…lol
mind you he also did some cool stuff, tokico blues / eibach springs / gsr sways / urethane bushings… but when i went home a few months ago and saw the altezza’s i yelled at him bad…
it’s pretty embarassing when chris and jesse and soem other guys stop in and see that thing in the drive-way…but no i am not adopted.
My dad thinks he’s a racer in his 98 Ford Contour Sport V6 Limited Edition
I have to drive this car to work everyday and what a pos of a car. Power
band is messed, brake sucks, handling ain’t that bad.
Oh well it’s a commuter car but my dad drives it like it’s stolen and thinks
everyone is trying to race him, even the guy in the wheelchair crossing
the road.
My dad has a car strictly to drive - so he’s neither…
He asks me for all his car advice etc…
He currently has a mid-90’s Camry. He couldn’t tell me anything about it except that it’s a V6 (hopefully that at least…). I don’t think that thing has EVER seen 3,000+ rpms…
I have an absolute passion for cars, real driving & modding/customizing…I think it comes from my mom’s side somewhere…
My dad cant stand the fact that I spend money on “souping” up my car. He gets mad (annoyed laugh) when he sees me working on the car or going over speedbumps slowly, lol… He’s never gave a shit about cars, my mom like my car more then he does, haha. He drives a 2000 Jeep grand cherokee.
my dad used to be the head of fords spechial vehical opps and performance / racing department in canada from 63-74, and then he owned pirrana small cars centers which was a group or retail stores spechializing in datsun and nissan performance, and now he owns a ricer company.
hes owned alot of cars including
a real 427 cobra back in 68
road version of the Gt40
64 galaxie 500 light weight
mustange gt500 with a 427 swap
mavric with a 427 swap
datsun 510
race bmw 2002i
too many to list
my dads a gino. The only person in my familly with a racing history is my uncle. And i wouldn’t call that a racing history he worked for a formula 2000 team or some shit.
In his hay day he use to drag a Chevy Caprice him and his friends built on the GM line back in the late 60’s. He had a 327 in it, dump tubes, some wierd gearing in rear end. They used a convertable frame instead of regular chassis. Some other little things, suffice to say he was the fastest 4-door caprice in town
I HATE AMERICAN CARS. We get in arguments about engines constantly lol. He is a V8 puss rod luver
that is my story exactly, except my daddy drives a neon and he beats the shit out of it lol…but then again its a neon so who cares.
my mechanical backround comes from my mom’s side for sure. her dad (my grandpa) was a mechanic for superbike champpionship team in
Romania, he owned a few motorcycles and cars in his day…mind you, not too many people had cars back in the Romanian communist days…
My dad is an old muscle car guy. So he is a racer I guess. He drives an 91 sse bonneville which I think is a pimp car and has a 56 plymouth plaza. He also helps me work on my car all the time. He has been a car guy since he was like 10.
my dads a wuss, he used to drive a mustang back in the mid 70’s and a firebird after that but ever since all he buys is minivans, he doesnt know how to drive standard, and back when i learned to drive standard he thought i was crazy. I think something happened way back when that turmed him away from fast cars, supposedly it has to do with my mom being preganat with me and they got in an accidnet in the firbird and it got hinm scared shitless, and since then he drives 20km’s below the speed limit. If it wasnt that it hasd to be something cause all i hear from his friends are crazy storeis about him in his stang but all i see is a guy who sits ridiculosuly close to the steering wheel, meh i get a laugh over it
my dad loved my 240SX, and loves hearing all about my drift stories and seeing pictures and videos and stuff. he worked on it with me for a bit (before we realized the car was too far gone to save), and he even thumbs through my Option’s from time to time.
he’s never owned a really nice car, but deep down he’s a muscle car lover and also likes Triumph’s. his dream would be to have either a Cobra or a TR7. he currently drives an '01 Accord 4-cyl (automatic because it used to be my mom’s car and she can’t drive stick). he would kill for a stick-shift, and this car is his first CAR since 1990 (when we bought a Lumina van, and then after that bought the Trans Sport that i’m using as my winter beater).
My dad drives a 89 toyota 4wd truck with 31’s on it. He cant understand how come my car is so low or why i mod it but he supports me none the less . My mom on the other hand has a 03 civic with cold air, and rims and drives pretty quick. My moms side of the family is the car side. My Uncle is an Engineer for Honda Canada  and my other uncle drives a 89 5.0 ho mustang and has a 87 mercury Capri.
I bet most of us are here thanks to our dads’ love of cars. My old man has been a driveway mechanic since he was a kid. He’s owned more cars than I can remember and not a single one was bought new. I remember tearing apart brake calipers in the driveway before I was old enough to see over a dashboard.
One thing my dad said has always stuck in my head… “If it aint rear wheel drive it’s garbage” I gues thats why I’ve always driven 240’s. Thanx Dad!
My dad has been into cars since he was a kid. He used to drag a '67 Firebird at Cayuga and did very well, before that he had a '64 Plymouth Valiant, which he also did well with. Anyone ever hears of Cliford Research 6=8? He had a slant six in the Valiant that he used to race against the v8’s, he would win every other week, battling this one guy. Now he is into old Fords, He has a side business of rebuilding antique car engines. It is called Precission Babbitt Service, babbitt is the material they used to use for bearings in the main, cam, and connecting rod bearings. Babbitting is a lost art.
