Hey guys, don’t worry, im not selling just yet! I just wanted to see if there is any interest in my car because coupe’s have been growing on me lately.
It’s a 1991, its got the HICAS, power windows, power locks. I was told the motor was replaced by one of the previous owners and i’d estimate it to be at around 150k, and the chassis has around 217,xxx km. It pulls hard, but do to an exhaust leak (at the cat) i suspect it to be slightly down on power. It used to run really rich do to some issues that are now fixed. It is still running rich, but i’m looking into it (O2 sensor and timing check). Also, the transimission is nearing the end of it’s life. Synchros are gone in 2nd and 3rd, but i have a spare tranny with 130k on it with a stock clutch and resurfaced flywheel. It just needs to be installed.
Recent maintenance includes:
-New OEM Nissan water pump
-New thermostat
-New coilpack, wires and plugs
-Recent oil flush
-Rad flush and new fluid
-New wheel stud on driver’s front.
-300zx fuel filter
The car was repainted in last november, and the paint looks good. Id does have a few paint chips and whatnot, but nothing serious. The sunroof does not leak. There is absolutely no rust on the body, the floor had 3 holes, but they were all fixed proprely. It was however, hit on the front quarter panel and bumper. The damage is totally cosmetic and i have a spare bumper, fender and headlight cover. The framerails are some of the cleanest ones in the area, and there is a small hole starting on the driver’s side, which could be fixed for very little money to prevent further rust.
The bad:
-Runs slightly rich
-Slight rust on framerail
-Hatch leaks, but no rust in spare tire well
-Vibration at around 90km/h due to missing stud/lug nut.
Synchros are bad in 2nd and 3rd gear
So just let me know what you’d offer for this car, im expecting to get around 5500 for it. Located in Ottawa.
I knew there was something wrong. For anybody interested in this car, it is not an ABS model. Which is way better because abs sucks ass, especially in the early 90’s cars where the technology sucked.

this car is super clean. Ive taken it for a spin myself. It has great power, and slides nice. its lowered on sportlines and it still has a very nice feel to it. The chassis is super clean and the its awesome to see in person
Thanks for the correctioon rob. I was always under the assumption that HICAS cars always had ABS, but never had to brake hard enough to actually notice it. Post edited.
and i noticed that u diddnt mention that the car needs a headgasket.
and you have no proof that their was a rebuilt motor installed
i told you i think there was because the car ran so well.
Considering how good it runs, im suprised you think it needs a headgasket… maybe if you had told me when i bought the car, like alot of the other details you left out. Dont clog up my thread with your BS, you lied to me about alot of things when i bought the car.

All these issues that i am finding are the ones that Peter didn’t mention when i bought the car. Either way, this is just a feeler thread, if i was actually getting serious about selling the car, i would go more into detail.
I’m trying to be as honest as possible, and if i left something out, it’s because i forgot to mention it, not because im hiding the flaws. I’m well aware the car is 15 years of age and so should you, and with that age comes little things that need to be fixed here and there.
Today i discovered that my passenger floorboard carpet was wet, but not like someone stepped on it with wet shoes, so i will be taking the carpet out at some point to prevent moisture from staying there.
^ It’s things like those that tick me off because we asked Peter straight up and he told us there was no leak.
Anyway, like i said, im trying to be 100% honest with potential buyers. If you know something about this car that i don’t feel free to post it, but for crying out loud dont tell me it needs a new HG…
And as for the price, if I ask 4k, everyone is going to lowball me and tell me the car is worth 2k. 5.5k is high, and i know that, i just want people to throw offers at me.

Well, you clearly lied to me when you said it didn’t leak water inside, i dont see how that doens’t make you a liar. And you never even mentionned that it would need a HG, which i still dont think it does.
Listen, if you lied, thats your problem and live with the consequences.

and i also told you i diddnt take care of that ka because as soon as it went i was going to do a rb swap.

My coupe is a melon as well thats why i will sell it for really cheap,
will need minor floor welding for a Safety, and it only has a conditional pass for the etest (which it would not pass)
