fender brace design

like to have some input on this,

a few people mentioned last time around that the flat bar wasnt going to be as strong as the tubed bar. now we didnt go with round for one reaosn or another, we went with the square tubing like the nams and the SPL bars.

we find the flat bar to be MUCH more rigid, however the square bar is alot lighter.

cant make both, what do you suggest?

there is the nams bar to compare

If anything square tubing as long as there is enough fender clearance…

The flatbar type looks beefy, but the square tubing provides more strengh from left to right

I still dont quite understand the purpose of these bars, what type of stress are they supposed to stiffen against, front to rear movement, or right to left movement?

If its for front to rear go with flat bar, if its for right to left use square tubing.

if anything these should be tied into a front strut bar.

singular pieces arent going to provide over all stiffness.

These bars are supposed to stiffen the front fender to firewall area. I have the same bars from SPL parts, and did notice slightly better turn in response. This was installed before my FLT-A2’s, tension rods, and full rear adjustable which later drowned out all feeling - because the car seemed to react very quick and flat.

I still have to play around with my suspension a little more by changing all variable back to stock, and then adjusting everything over again little by little. At the time, the fenderbrace did seem like a good product.

Bing, plz check your PM. I have some design ideas for you.
