I know this isn’t so much as an event, but I know there are a few members here that have expressed great interest in seeing this rare car. There is at carshow up at the Saratoga Auto Museum this weekend(15th) that I brought the Ultima GTR to last year for the Mohud SCCA group. This year I am going to bring the Ford Festiva Shogun to the show for Eric Smith to use in his SCCA group again.
Just thought I’d post a universal notice here for those member looking to see the car in person. It’s chassis #2 of 6 built, supercharged. And yes I plan on getting a dyno pull or two while I have it to find out what it actually puts down for the owner.
My all time favorite ford product. I think leno owns #3 and if I remember right this was for sale a few years back and the ad claimed over 400 horse supercharged. I think the stock yamaha 3.0l was good for about 220, so I’m interested to see what this actually puts down. Really hoping to get out there and see this little monster this weekend.
It’s here at my shop now. If it rains I may keep the car indoors, I’ll know more that morning. If it holds out then I’ll have the car there around 8am or so unless Eric tell me otherwise.
It’s $10 to get into the show tomorrow for anyone that is interested. Weather doesn’t look all that great, but the show will have the nicest cars of any in the area this summer…assuming it is decent out. Great show…tomorrow is the Invitational, as well as the Euro show there as well. Sunday is an all car show. Your $10 gets you into the show both days as well as entry into the auto museum. They just introduced a new exhibit “Forza Italia” All Italian cars of course.
I’m not bringing the shogun tomorrow, Sunday is the day I have been allocated with the SCCA guys in front of the museum… Tomorrow I’m going to make an “exhibition” run or two at the local auto X to clear the motor out a bit :ninja
Sunday though is expected to be a downpour so I’m going to play it by ear.
Looks like it has been bumped to a 90% chance of downpour tomorrow so unfortunately I’m going to have to pull the plug on the show. I can’t risk having this car out in that kind of weather, I’d rather total the Ultima.
I’m going to chat with Don over the week and see if I can hold onto it for awhile and see about getting it to another show or meet soon.
