I noticed that Harbor Frieght has a vacuum pump designed for Automotive A/C Systems. I am replacing the Compressor on my wife’s car (2000 Volvo S70) this weekend and I know that the local garage wants $125 to fill the r134a into the system. I was thinking of buying the vacuum pump and some r134a refills from walmart and save like $60. Is it that easy or am I missing something?

I do it all of the time and have all of the equipment. If you would like I could give you a hand just bring the car over and I will take a look at it and tell you what you will need for the repairs. And save your self the money on the equipment.
PM me if you have any questions
thats basically it, just make sure you have pag oil for the system.
