I was waiting @ a light the other day with a import in front of me, & a bike in front of that. As the lite went green, I heard a nice sounding small block rev up, I thought WTF is making that sound?? I knew it wasnt the import, then I saw what the bike had for an engine, a SBC. I know it’s a lotta weight but it still is cool.

Where was this? I think this is the only SBC in the area… along with my dad’s other bike.

i saw a purple one at krull park/ olcott beach last year with a custom case 2-speed powerglide.

the 2 speeds aren’t custom. (for the most part, not saying the one you saw wasn’t)
They all came with the 2 speed for the last couple years, and they suck. Can’t do WOT shifts without blowing the tranny. Anyone who has said they do, has broken a tranny.
They have slippage issues too. Nice thing is the walking reverse. If you don’t think ahead when you park this thing, make a friend and have him push you up hill, cause its a bitch by yourself.

i meant custom case compared to a regular powerglide… at least the guy that had the one I saw said it was a powerglide.
a car with a glide can take a WOT shift… why cant the bike… that makes little sense.
LS2 would be nice. lighter.

The stock transmission cannot take it. For whatever reason they break. I’m not sure what brand they use on the new bikes, really haven’t been interested until they unveiled the LS2.

A lot of guys were scared of the hesitation between shifts… having a 500+ HP big block inbetween your legs rev up and then bang into 2nd will make almost anyone shit their pants. Watch the vid I posted of mild revving in neutral, multiply that by 10 for a WOT rev in neutral (or between shifts).
The guy you are referring to might have had a powerglide, I don’t know for sure either way.
yeah I dunno… he said it was a glide in there with a custom case/shaftdrive.
