Most of you are missing the point.
I’m not going to finance a 10 year old car…I have the cash for it, I just need to get rid of my CURRENT car. And as of right now I doubt I can find anyone to pony up $23k for a 2008 wrx.
Hence why i’m looking for one at a dealer.
I’m sure the dealer is going to mark up the price a little, but I can negotiate a good deal. The only reason I’m looking at dealer is again, i need to unload my car.

You’re missing the point. I don’t care about the tax i’ll save as tax on 10 grand isn’t too much, but I just have a feeling I won’t be able to sell my wrx for a while.

you do realize you can sell your car to a dealer… should get the same money as trading in if you do it right. any other number just means they are taking cash from the other end of the deal. the selling / trade in on a 2008 wrx will suck no matter what.

ugh 66, you’re missing the point, I CAN’T sell my wrx private. No one is willing to shell out 20+ grand right now.

I just want to get rid of it and pay cash for a car ( a fun, cheaper car…IE; m3), have a bunch left over and save my earnings.

All the cars you guys posted are awesome though, except none are at dealers

dealers will only take trade in’s because you inturn are buying a car from them and they are making more money. they dont straight up buy cars. why would they pay you 20,000 on a car that isn’t guaranteed to sell? they would be losing money like crazy, if you buy a car from them they are guaranteed money and will make money on the car you traded in.

if you could just sell your car to a dealer then every fuckin dealer would have 8000 cars sitting on their lot and there would be no such thing as auto trader or the classifieds or craigslist

most big name dealers wont, and a private family owned dealer doesn’t want that new of a car for 20k it will never sell
