Looks more like a Borderlands knockoff the anything.
How does that look like a borderlands knockoff? Borderlands was cool for about 3 hours, then you beat it…and the online mode was garbage. The only similarity i see is guns…and maybe the cell shading for the characters. Borderlands was not the first or only game with cell shading.
This looks like a much more action based version of a MMORPG than most of them that are out there… Which is awesome. You’re not sitting there waiting for your ratios and percentages and turn counters and blah blah blah. Shooting bullets and seeing them hit stuff is way better than math. Nobody likes to shoot math at things.
I will certainly give this a go when it comes out

Got my Beta invite and I’m downloading now. I’ll check it out, but not with any serious play time since it’s summer still.

Played for a bit, it’s a lot of fun. Not better than Battlefield, but still a great time 
It gets freaky when dark… and you need to have a few guys with you to do well trying to mine especially at night. I’m not sure, but I think I’m the only one who knows how to use the flashlight… everyone else is fighting in pitch black darkness, lol.
Maybe they accidentally, ya know… the whole thing.

I have a beta invite left to give out if anyone else wants to try Firefall, once you are in beta you will get invites to send out at some point as well. The game is going to be totally free to play, there is no purchasing or sub fees.
They have launched a beta cash shop option that is just cosmetic stuff, if you buy anything and they lower the price you get refunded the in game money currency that you spent. They are very adamant that they do not want to sell power, so the cash shop is not going to be for a better gun or more health in the game, but more about vanity items and stuff like that. The latest patch also completely reworked their system for battleframes, so a lot of people are all basically starting out new.
And one last thing, if you play now, nothing is being wiped out when they officially go live, so what you play is what you keep at this point in beta.
