fireplace andirons

has anyone ever re purposed fireplace andirons?

i have some antique iron owls, the cradle was pretty badly cracked up so i kept the owls and ditched the rest. they’re pretty heavy, a good 20 pounds each and around a foot tall. i plan to have them sandblasted and powdercoated a satin black or something.

i’m thinking of incorporating these things into some kind of rustic furniture…so ill be finding some rough cut to start building.

any ideas?
