first gen NSX

so ive been looking at these for shits and giggles. was wondering what kind of power they can make without boost. im not a huge honda fan but this is one of my favorite cars of all time.

lets hear it hondabois

I think Comptech use to make like 400-425 all motor. Stroked and cammed obviously. I only know people SC or Turbo them because its cheaper and easier to do then go the stroke/cammed route. I think they make a little over 300wheel with full bolts and tuned.

booooooo thats so weak. listen i know its one of the best drivers cars of all time but fuck, 300whp is weak!

Here’s a pretty interesting link.

I mean you its only an N/A V6. Cant expect to much power unless you throw some boost at it!

Jesus 26 min!!?!!

ive seen it

Its basically a better Accord/TL v6, so they dont make a ton of power. Being such a light chassis, they are fun. Its on my list too lol

Badass car imho!!!

Can you seriously fit in one comfortably? They seem rather small.

It’s a Honda. It’s going to rev like crazy and make shit for torque. Buy my S2000 instead lol.

nice cars, but not for the money.

i think they actually have a nice flat torque band.

edit it looks like those are all f/i setups

go to jeff evans dyno pages and search for c series nsx under engine type. its interesting to see the numbers that all the different cars and setups that he tunes put down.

id love to buy an nsx and probably will some day but stock i think they run like mid 13’s at around 105. not enough for a car like that especially since every fool will try and line up wit you.

DON’T GET MAD. I’ve got 1k.

Buy cowleys turbo one

I doubt many N/A NSX will put a grin on your face. To make 400whp you would need a stroked and otherwise built motor, high compression, most likely ITB’s. It would be very expensive and possibly impractical. A stock 3.0l makes about 240-250whp on a dyno.

Stock you can expect an NSX to run mid 13’s possibly low 13’s with a couple bolt ons. A common setup many run is the Comptech supercharger. These are very reliable setups between 300 and 350whp. You can expect mid 12’s out of a setup like this. If your goals are beyond that then a turbo would be the way to go IMO. All round better cooling, many with supercharger setups pushing them are always looking for better cooling solutions which are never a problem on my NSX.

At 6psi my setup made ~390whp on morgans dyno, and ~375 on a mustang. The car ran 11.9@120 almost 121 just to give you an idea of what you can expect.

300whp maybe on a very healthy 3.2l engine with a tuned intake and exhaust.

how are these motors stock? internal wise i mean. forged or just cast?

The C30A also made use of titanium connecting rods, which was another first in a mass-production vehicle

titanium, bro
