Looks more grey than black… I like that more than the flat black.

what kind of paint are these ppl using? flat single stage? or just a rattle can?
most of the flat/satin aren’t paint jobs, they are vinyl wraps. although there are many diff actual paint options.
Im sure different people are using different methods, but the right way is to put a deadener additive in the clearcoat which dulls it.
all of the above and some use vinyl as well. Some of the paint is the clear mixed with the base to get a different levels of gloss

Some one once told me that their is a product called Hot Rod Black that gets the look in a single stage. Some of the VWs and Rat Rods have experimented with other flat colors. Im a fan of the flat silver and bronze.

Im pretty sure that GTR is not rattle canned. and vinyl isn’t metallic. That Olds Cutlass that was posted by GATVILLE, That looks like a spray bomb job
i’d be suprised if more then a couple of these cars in this thread are rattle canned. people spend big money on satin paint w satin clear paint jobs. rattle can never comes out that well and usually doesn’t last. another forum i’m on a guy just painted his wheels chameleon w a satin clear, pretty nuts.
vinyl can be metallic. its amazing what they do with stickers these days.
they will run as much as a lower to mid end paint job, but this way you don’t have to pay for another one when it goes out of style, u just take it off.
Is there any easy way to spot vinyl from real paint just from the pictures?
