Was archiving some old J-town pics and came across these from a previous visit to a Nissan dealer during a Nismo promotional.
Nismo 400R
Side note: This R33 is one of the few complete cars offered by Nismo. It’s powered by an RB-X GT2 engine, basically an RB26DETT bored out to 2.8 liters and fitted with cheap mods like with a reinforced cylinder block and cylinder head, metal head gasket, pistons with cooling channels, forged crank shaft, forged connecting rods, N1 ball bearing turbos with upgraded actuators, etc etc.
Sounds like a hack job to me :lol.
Redline is 9000 RPM, power output is 400 hp (hence the name).
Note that the car somehow managed to sidestep the “gentlemen’s agreement” which was still in place at the time this car was built (1996). I read somewhere that Nissan had to pay some kind of penalty or fine to allow this car to be built and advertised as 400 hp, which added to the cost (dollar equivalent was $100k US new).
400Rs are extremely rare, only 99 built.
Another piece of trivia- this car was one of the first production cars to lap the 'Ring in under 8:00- 12 years ago.

Random R34 rolling across the street
Uh, something tells me these aren’t TE37 knock offs
Typical shiz you would see in a parking lot (drool)
i loved being in Japan, everyday as i would ride my bike to work, id see a jza80 with bronze te37s, fixed roof, no wing, ARC fmic, etc, and outside the fence id see a blue R34 at this warehouse, and countless GTS-T’s, siliva q’s and k’s, s14,s15’s a few RX7s, a couple R33 GTRs, on with Work Meisters… note this was just on base… out in the city, it was crazy. so many cool cars in Japan, i came back with 4-500$ worth of headlights and tailights and assorted interior pieces, sold for them for over 2000 in my pocket( 2500$) +1 for Japan, a friend of mine with an EG around here has a set of my true JDM headlights and corners on his car
…that sounds amazing. i was surprised how many nice cars i saw living in ireland. nice gti’s, skyline r33s and 34s, s15s, and a toyota levin which i had never heard of until then. saw a blue kouki over there but it was badged as a 180, not a 200. then of course u have ur pimped peugeots and renaults… the alfa romeo brera is a nice lookin car too
those cars are all over the Caribbean. Was on a cruise for a week in mid May and every island I went to had those things rolling around. Nice looking cars.
beat u to it :mwahaha
here’s the r33 that drove by my apartment everyday, and the r34 that for some reason was always parked near the mcdonalds :confused
