I know theres a bunch of EDM fans on here (or at least there used to be). Either way, love it or hate it, these guys make some serious coin. Crazy to think guys like Skrillex who have only been in the game for a few years can pull in that kind of money.
1.) Tiesto - $22M
2.) Skrillex - $15M
3.) Swedish House Mafia - $14M
4.) David Guetta - $13.5M
5.) Steve Aoki - $12M
6.) Deadmau5 - $11.5M
7.) DJ Pauly D - $11M
8.) Kaskade - $10M
9.) Afrojack - $9M
10.) Avicii - $7M
The biggest misconception of these guys is they don’t just play mixes at a club as a DJ which is also a talent not everyone can do, but they produce music and tracks on their own as well. A lot of other DJs you hear just make mixes and mashups of the songs these guys produce.
Anyone else who thinks they just press play or “anyone can make a song with a laptop”, let me know when your tracks on YouTube get millions of views and I will agree with you =)
Sweet list seems about right surprised Calvin Harris isn’t on it. Some of those guys are extememly talented. Deadmau5 plays a new set everytime he goes on if heard. Pauly D is a joke.
Deadmau5 admitted to being scripted and auto play. He got flamed for posting about it that everyone pushes play but he has a point, there is a production aspect that they need to match. They can’t start remixing in the middle of a set with planned pyros and lighting.
I think it started by someone seeing a live set with a transition and a deck flashing that it was running short on the time and that he wasn’t even doing anything and responded.
