Ford…

Ford…

Yep, you’re right. Every mid-sized sedan Ford ever sells should be called a Taurus lest people not be able to figure out what it is.
Well, at least until somebody comes up with a way to tell people about a new product. Maybe some day they’ll interrupt television shows with little mini-television shows talking about the product, or hang big pictures of it on the sides of highways, or maybe even talk about it in between songs on the radio!
Both the Edge and Fusion sales are doing pretty well for Ford.
The 500 isn’t a bad car from the reviews I’ve read other than just needing more power. They new ones are getting that power boost, so it may do ok for Ford as well. The name change is probably a good bet since people will instantly recognize the Taurus name. “500” didn’t really say anything to me. At least when BMW uses all numerics in their names, you understand what the car is from the numbers. 500 seems more like something someone pulled out of the air.
Bye bye ford.
And is it just me, or does the fusion/ 500 have volvo style tailights?
Are they rebaged volvos?
No offense to the Taurus guys here but was anyone really upset when they ditched the Taurus? I couldn’t give two shits.
i shed a tear …
The Taurus and Sable had good sales because it had a reputation of being a pretty damn good all around car. Size, comfort, and functionality wise. Good daily.
Their bold moves campaign just went down the toilet.
i stick to my guns. “i told ya so”
ford and chevy are headed to their end, ford is just moving their faster. the new lineup is incredibly ugly in my opinion, the only car that has styling i like in the new line is the mustang. the rest look like complete shit. the edge is growing on me, but the other cars just dont have any greatly appealing body lines and such. this whole re-naming cars is a retarded idea, and their marketing does indeed suck ass.
i wont be sad to see them go, at all. its a shame they went the route they did. i love my focus, but the have since ruined what the focus started out as.
i just feel bad for my parents…my stepdad works at the stamping plant :bloated:
oh man…seriously… poor ford…
bad marketing…
bad design team…
bad…bad…
anywho, they seem to be doing pretty good in Europe…
yeah, its a shame they dont follow europe’s example. the focus gets hotter and hotter over there, but here they turned it into grammy’s commuter

this one too…
^ yeah, esp. the one they are working on now…the RS…turbo AWD and looks like the orange ST you pictured
whats his name and how long has he been there?
I think it’s funny that they couldn’t even kill the Taurus off properly. It was still the best selling car for them in 2007.
Apparently someone should tell Ford that the Taurus name died in 96 when they put out a crap product that gave Yugo a run for it’s money.
Someone also needs to tell them that slab interiors died in the 80s, and that chrome plastics did the same in the 70s.
BRAND RECOGNITION
Ford wanted to drop the Toreass altogther (in favor of newer names AND platforms)… however it is still one of their largest volume sellers (beside F-series).
They are trying to pay the bills… In case You haven’t read any national automotive news, Ford has been hemmoraging faster then one of Beck’s gf on a first date.
