Ford Probe Meet 9/24 @9pm, Wal-Mart, Robinson (all Mazda K-series rides welcome)

I’m pleased to help invite anyone who wants to come to the Pittsburgh Area Probe Meet event, being held at 9pm in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Robinson, PA this Saturday, Sept 24, 2005. This is being organized loosely through ProbeTalk.com members, not through the defunct Pittsburgh Area Probe Association. Mazda MX-6/MX-3/626/929/Millenia owners also welcome! I know this is awfully short notice, but better some than none.

Our only goal is for people to show up. There are lots of people with Probes around here and for a lot of them, they need proof that meets are worth going to, and maybe we can start something here. I will be bringing my camera to shoot any car that shows up, so you will get exposure as will the group as a whole.

The first Probe there is supposed to be a black 1996 GT with chrome swirlies, so please look for it as you enter the lot

So far there are at least four people going, which is far more than any Pittsburgh Area Probe Association meet attempted in the last year. So far we have the 96 GT, my red 93 GT, a 2005 Civic (also owns a Probe), a 94 SE, possibly two 95 SE’s, and possibly a 95 GT.

Thanks for reading, PittSpeed  Please pass this along to anyone you know who has a related ride they’d want to bring.

anal probes?

whats a wal-mart, never been to one of them.

Why the fuck do people like probes and think that they are cool?

They were a fairly sporty car back in the mid-90s. The GT was comparable performance wise to a Civic SI or other “sport compact”.

They are not very reliable cars and that’s why there aren’t many around these days.

… Just like there aren’t many top mechanics, not enough cheap parts, and not enough people who care enough about their cars. A strike against these cars, maybe? The world just wasn’t ready for Mazda’s engineering. And now V6 coupes are all but gone from Ford/Mazda’s lineup… Shame…

I moved on, Probe’s are an up hill battle that few win. Good luck on your meet.
