I bought a factory brake controller for my 2012 F-150. I need to have it turned on/enabled for it to be recognized. Any Ford Tech’s on here that want to make a few bucks for 5 mins of your time. Not wanting to have a dealer charge me a full hour or more to do the work.
Does it plug into the silver connector on the right side of the steering wheel? Did you put the fuse in? I did it on my 2013 and I did not have to have it turned on
I haven’t put it in yet but it does plug into the spot under the 4x4 switch and I have the fuse/relay. I’ve been told that in order for it to show on the dash and work with sway control if needs to be enabled. I got it off ebay from fairway ford and they say.
After installation your F-150 will need it’s Smart Junction Box “enabled” (flashed/programmed) to recognize the newly installed brake control module.
Does yours show up on the dash and work correctly?
It does need to be flashed. If you want to swing it by Basil Ford. Ill have a tech do it for $45. Let me know
@Trkbossls I sent you a PM to set something up.
Just a little update. I had it done at Delacy Ford. The programming was $39.99 but I got $10 off because I bought my truck there so with tax it was $32.
All the info shows up on the dash, ie… Gain, trailer connected, not connected plus it works with Ford sway control. Also nice factory look.
