i know what you’re all saying about affirmative action. i didn’t say it was perfect. it hasn’t been an issue because, frankly, people and politicians are scared to touch that. however, it is definatly necessary. why do you think all of america is segrigated into neat little sections? think about it. take buffalo for example. rich white people live in amherst williamsville. blacks on the east side. hispanics on the west side. lower middle class whites (irish) in south buffalo, and north buffalo is a blend i guess. anyway, it’s like that in every city. how come? real estate agents only show certain houses to certain types of people. that’s only the tip of the iceberg.
affirmative action is necessary. why aren’t there white only scholarships? why aren’t there white people quotas? well, to answer your question, there is already a system in place for that. it’s called white privelege. for the last almost thousand years, whites in america control everything. face it, whites control the government, military, economy, schools, hospitals, everything. combine that with a long history of violent racism and hatred, 35 years after black equality shit isn’t going to be balanced. some of the posters on here exhibited the still present racism. i feel strongly that it is still necessary.
