Well the tint itself is what actually blocks out the UV light. It would be nice if there was a type of clear lens that blocked UV light, but to my knowledge it doesn’t exist yet; at least not at a reasonable price point. Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah, I was actually looking at getting the Gunnar Crystalline ones just before this, which are clear (http://shop.gunnars.com/crystalline-lens/l/903) but I had not gotten a chance to read the differences between the amber ones and the clear yet. Their information is sparse at best. So far, 4 hours in I have no headache or eye issues like I had previously with my contacts. It is a little wierd at first when I take them off to get up due to the change in colors, but that’s minimal and for a very short period.
Got a promo code this morning. Should have them Tuesday and by Friday I’ll have a solid 24+ hours of use and will give a honest review. Appreciate the opportunity.
Yeah to my knowledge the Gunnar crystalline ones don’t block UV light, they only help “reduce glare” and “improve image clarity”. Both of which are claims that none of the studies I’ve read seem to back up, and IMO sound kind of BS and gimmicky.
Ordered and should be here Wednesday. Can’t wait to give these a shot as the last few weeks have been 12-16 hours on a laptop a day.
Got mine, going to use them this week and have a review up by Friday. Thanks!
Well it’s day 1 so far and I must say I do not prefer wearing them. Are these supposed to get better with use?
Please explain. Why don’t you like them?
It’s not that they’re doing anything wrong, and I don’t mind the yellow tint, I just don’t feel like there’s less strain on my eyes. But I shouldn’t have jumped to conclusions, I’m going to use them the rest of the week.
Give them a few days. It should feel slightly less stressful during use, but the main difference (from my own use and others I’ve given them to) is that the eyes seem to feel less strained afterwards (if you’ve ever spent a full day at a laptop writing a paper, then felt like your eyes were going to shrivel up and fall out by the time you finished, you know the feeling).
Mine came in today. I’ll review after a few days. It will take a bit to get used to since I don’t wear glasses.
So you can sign people up for free computer glasses on Nyspeed but you can’t respond to pm’s?!?
i want your sexbox one!!!
also. I signed up.
So after 30+ hours of use I like them. Biggest difference was with bright screens. Didn’t have to strain with emails, paperwork, reports, web browsing… With CAD my screen is mostly dark so I didn’t notice much. I also tried them while driving at night and surprisingly they work great with head light glare. My eyes feel much better and they don’t feel cross eyed at the end of the day. Definitely something I will recommend. I left a review on amazon.
Make sure you guys give them a few days to get to them. By the third day was when I started to notice a difference.
The more I am wearing them the more I am appreciating them. I posted a review.
Thanks again!
Thanks for the review! Bright screens are definitely where these are most useful, I have a kindle fire that I use daily and they’re perfect for that application.
Never tried using them for night driving myself, but I’d seen similar products marketed for that purpose before. Thanks for the tip!
No problem, thanks for the review!
Submitted my review thanks again
Amazing.
Submitted my review, overall these do help, when I take them off I’m blinded by natural light.
I submitted review. I have had a few longer sessions with these on and do help with strain and reading screens esp in the dark.
The blinding when you take them off is something to remember. Lol.
Bringing this back to the top, as I’m launching a second model and am giving another 10 pairs away for reviews. As before, you need amazon prime or you’ll have to pay for shipping. PM me here on the forum if you’re interested!
