i’ve decided to move up in the market and buy something a little newer and nicer for myself. this is my 1996 Ford Thunderbird LX; take a look and see if you’re interested. it is bright white on the exterior with a clean dark blue cloth interior.
first off, a little history: i’ve known this car almost since it was new. the car was bought brand new from the Ford dealership on Delaware Rd in early 1996 by a nice old lady who lives in amherst and who i am still in contact with. she had the car serviced and maintained at that same dealership for the 9 years she owned it; records of this are on the carfax site. (verified 2/20/08)
since about 2003 my family has been helping her run errands and generally get by, so we were the ones she turned to when the car needed servicing. she always insisted we kept the tank full of 93 octane during the winter and she rarely drove it, usually only to the grocery store/doctor, etc. i bought the car from her in 2005 with low miles and i’ve taken very good care of it for the almost 3 years i’ve owned it. i’ve keep the habit of putting in 93 octane for as long as i’ve had it and it’s never given me trouble.
OPTIONS:
power windows
power locks
power mirrors
8-way power driver’s seat, manual passenger seat
power brakes
power steering
keyless entry system
AM/FM cassette
all of these work like new.
i haven’t modded the car very much, mostly only a few cosmetic things with a couple of performance things.
Performance:
-B&M Performance Underdrive Pulleys (for alternator and crank).
-cold air intake (i still have the stock airbox).
-rear strut tower brace.
-2 sets of rims: standard 15", and 16" rims from a 92 Super Coupe, tires included (although i’m not sure if i will sell these along with the car at the moment).
Aesthetics:
-smoked headlights
-added a spoiler painted to match the factory finish
-plus little cool things here and there in the interior that add to comfort/utility.
the car currently has a little over 59,000 miles on the odometer. the title is clean and the carfax comes back with everything ok. the oil has been changed religiously every 3,000 miles. the car has NEVER left me stranded and it’s started every single time i needed it to. it just passed NYSI about 2 weeks ago; i put in 2 new rear coil springs and replaced both upper control arms/ball joints. the check engine light is NOT on and the car does not have any exhaust leaks whatsoever. no emissions problems at all.
asking price is $3400. this is just about what the NADA guide says.
ill try to get pics up of the interior. i don’t own a digital camera, but i’ll try to make it work.
