How’s it going everybody, new to the site, but not exactly new to forums. 1996 Thunderbird V6 in my driveway; slower than everything, but wait until it’s car buying time! :eekdance:
Anybody else with a V6 MN-12?
This is from about 3 years ago when I first bought the car. I’ve done a few things since, just small things.

Ha, my first ten minutes on and someone’s already on my case…
The motor is NA, so there is really no point to start with anything big on the 3.8. However, to make it slightly more fun:
-underdrive pulleys on the crank and alternator
-removed air silencer, then went to a cone filter, then to a homemade PVC fenderwell setup…not really looking for gains here, just something to play around with.
-16" SC rims from a '92 with summer tires…older style, not like your nice 94-95s 
-rear strut tower brace welded up by Rod M. from TCCOA
-spoiler with LED, with charged gas struts from a 96 Mustang to hold up the extra weight of the trunklid
-relocated trunk release button
-97 console
-speakers and headunit and iPod hookup, stuff like that, but I’m not really big into audio.

thanks man, that’s been the plan since i bought it in 2005 with only 15K on the clock. i’m working on getting myself a 04-06 WRX in springtime…but in the meantime, this gets me by.

I’ve owned probably half a dozen tbirds in my life.
Started at age 16 with a rot box 90 base thunderbird 3.8.
Then I had the following…
89 supercoupe fivespeed, dark blue.
95lx 4.6L deep jewel green.
90 supercoupe anniversary, fivespeed.
96 sport 4.6L supercharged.
Once I buy a house, I’m on the search for a nice 96-97 sport cougar to put a cammed motor in, or a 97-98 mark8 lsc.
yeah, later in life once i settle down it’d be great to find a 95 SC, or even settle for a white 96/97 LX like my own, but with a V8. somehow i just won’t be able to let memories of it go…

Cool, there are a couple guys who race those in Roc area, kinda the full sized mustang. The 4.8 ones are quick.

You could walk some geo metros and some Dx’s probably.

thanks coveted hilton. you have a point, but it’s better to think it’s slower than everything than to think that i could walk away from everything on the road. been down that road a long time ago, got my ass handed to me, and learned humility LOL. you are supposed to start at the bottom and work your way up anyways!
however, my “kill” list includes:
~04 Civic EX with Typhoon CAI and Skunk2 exhaust, auto
~89? 240SX, auto
~02 Saturn SC2 with some kind of intake, auto
~dead even with a 95 Lumina 4DR and 01 Grand Prix SE, both with the 3.1
and that’s my war fought with a peashooter…
lol i don’t think an SVT focus or a 5.0? LX is classified as a shitty ford…
because with either of those cars, at least it ONCE was top of the line, unlike my V6:lol:
not really much anymore, i’m on there under “nsogiba”. i like to go on to just read up on DIYs and the technical articles.
im curious…is porkchop really the dick that everyone says he is?
