I’m selling my 240 in order to pay for the college. The car was sitting in the parking lot for a while and now it has to go. Here’re the brief “Goods and Bads”
Good:
Megan Coilovers Street series (bought those practically new, since then I put about 100km on them)
Alpine Headunit (Alpine CDA-9853R, bought it new, had audio shop install it)
Amplifier + 12" Sub
New clutch
4 New brake rotors + pads
Frame rails are in good shape
Little rust on the body
Leather interior
Stock sideskirts (rear valance incl. just not attached)
Tinted windows
New battery
Bad:
Hatch is not wired up (I replaced my old hatch, didn’t have time to wire it up)
Hatch is missing a spoiler (You could probably get one at junk yard)
Headlights need to be calibrated
Needs new tires
The car is 5-spd with 237,603km on the body. The price is $ 1800. I’m located in Etobicoke close to Islington and Dixon. If you have any questions please PM me.
the car is up for sale again. since the last inspection the following refused to show the signs of life: windshield wipers (the winshield wiper motor works fine, it’s just some thing popped off. Same happened a year ago, mechanic charged me $20 to get it back on), driver’s door lock (won’t lock from outside, still locks/unlocks from inside and unlocks from outside), clutch pedal. Similar problem happened on my civic, when the clutch master cylinder gave in. Cost me about $200 to replace it. Considering those, I’m selling it as a parts car. There are tons of stuff you can rip off it or you can repair it, I just don’t have the time, tools and patience to do that. Except for the clutch problem the car is in good driving condition. The new price is $1800. PM me, come see it and take it away! Cheers.
hmmm just checkin if the car is sold yet. i know you said there is a clutch problem, but is the car still drivable enough for me to get it home? like a 45min drive?
The will be drivable after the clutch is fixed, right now, it is not meant to be driven on account that i wont even move. I like this car ive seen it, needs some body work and a paint job and a few electrical work and the clutch problem but other then that its great, i would have bought it if it wouldnt cost me so much to do all that, also i dont have the time. so i recommend this car for people who have money to spend between (2000-4000, not including the amount being paid for the car) and a lot of time on your hands, i think you should get it. i would buy it if my house was done being built now cuz then id tow it to a mechanic and let him fix the clutch then take it to my house to keep it in the garage and over the weeks fix it up.
honestly, this car looks good when you see it, dont think its trash cuz its not, also it will need a new battery, it was sitting for too long. Sound system and AC are incredible, work as if it was new! Pretty clean inside. Rear seats are good, but if you want the car to be perfect, get new rear seats cuz there is a small stain. (wont bother most people unless they are obsessed with perfection!) If you wanna drive away with the car i recommend offering 1600-1800 and have the owner of this car fix the clutch and get it a new battery. At midas it will cost about $200 to get the clutch Master cylinder and labour, (i got a quote) and how ever much it will cost for a battery. I say you give this owner 100$ extra if he gets the car fixed for you because he took the time.
also when i say $2000-4000, i dont mean you gotta spend that much to make it road worthy i just mean to make it look good and run better, like a new paint job, some alignment most likely, new tires, possibly new hatch or spoiler which ever you prefer. but i would say no more then $1000 extra to make it pass etest and get it certified. 2000-4000 is just to make it look nicer and run better!
also, this car is perfect for anyone looking for a project car, car looks like it can haul ass… after an oil change.
Sorry guys for not replying earlier. Alright, so here’s the deal with the car. I’ve spent past few days trying to start the car, but it wouldn’t. The engine turns over, catches for a second and then dies again. It could be a simple problem or it could be not. In that light my 240 is being sold as a parts car. The new price is $1000, that is considerably less than it cost me to buy the coilovers and the stereo system alone! Not only you get a deal on those two but you also get a free car on top of that. The 240 is going to the first person to come up with a thousand bucks, I will not hold the car for anyone. Cheers!
