That means a system for the “start at” price would include 256 or 512 ram, and a 40-60 gig drive, depending on what I have. If you want more ram/bigger drive/DVD-Burner/Wireless etc, then it’s going to cost more.
Here is my reply to Travypoo if anyone else is interested…
If you’re not gaming its super cheap to build something fast!
2.66ghz Intel Celeron D Processor
Asus Motherboard w/ DD2 Ram (2 slots), Dual Core support (If you want to upgrade later), Integrated Video,PCI-Express slot, etc.
Kingston 512 megs ram
160 gig Drive
Silver Alien case or a clean black or silver case w/ 4 blue LED fans and 400watt power supply
My total for that came out to about $350. Would be awesome for surfing as it sits, and easily upgradable to turn it into a hardcore gaming machine later on.
This does not include keyboard, mouse, or monitor.
I would need a 50% deposit to get it started, and 1 or 2 days to buy parts and put it together. This quote is for ALL new parts with manufacturers warranties.
The price I got is for all new parts from 1 distributor, I’m sure I could shop around to score a better deal.
Added a killer home/multimedia system, all new parts (cept the vid card).
NEW 3.33ghz Intel Celeron Processor, Asus Motherboard. 4 slots for DDR400 ram, comes with 1gig of ram, 80 gig Hard drive, CD Burner, clean black/silver case. $360 firm for this system. Can downsize parts to downsize the price!
Lowered price by $120, I dunno how I mis-calculated this one!
