FS/FT: '89 SR S13

well, i’ve decided to sell my SR S13… my wife and i have a baby on the way and i’ve just sold my house in Barrie (which is 5 minutes from work) and bought a home about 1/2 hour north (Wasaga Beach)… as much as i love my car i need something more practical to drive daily.

my S13:
1989 black fastback (approx. 212,000km)
1996 SR20DET Blacktop (approx. 70,000km)

i bought a clip a couple of years ago and did the SR swap myself… i’m a 310T mechanic (truck/coach/bus). the gauge cluster from the clip was installed (reads 55,000km) but the odometer has never worked… and i can honestly say that is the only mechanical problem this car has! everything works they way it should. i’ve been driving at 10.5 PSI on stock SR setup since the swap with no issues… compression is 180 psi across all cylinders.

the body was mint until some idiot hit my driver’s side front fender while my car was parked at work. the bumper took the impact just fine, i had to replace the headlight cover and bang out the fender… and rather than re-painting the entire car at my own expense (because i never did find out who hit me) i just spray painted the entire front end and that was good enough for me. the only rust on the body is on the rear driver’s side quarter panel (where the mudflap was), but i’ve grinded most of it off and painted over it. the frame rail has a nice rust hole on the driver’s side, but has been grinded, filled and painted to look better (if i knew how to weld i’d have fixed it, but it really doesn’t bother me).

obviously, the car in it’s current state (ie. hole in frame rail) will not pass a safety inspection, unless you know a mechanic. the e-test is still valid until August '07, but will need emissions stuff (ie. EGR, charcoal canister) re-installed for future tests (i’m not sure if Hot Rod status requires this).

also, i’ve had tons of people asking about safety…
the only reason i’m selling the car AS IS is because the hole in the driver’s frame rail doesn’t bother me (if the car doesn’t sell)… any welder can fix it for ~ $100, or if you happen to have a mechanic “friend” the car will pass no problem. there are no major, or even minor, problems with this car.

trust me, if i could easily fit a baby seat, my 100lb dog, and my golf clubs in the car i’d keep it!

^ yeah, unfortunately i don’t live 2 minutes from Centennial Beach anymore… so not sure how many meets i’ll get in this year (i’m always up for a weekend cruise, though).

we actually cruised by on Wednesday night, but nobody was out (it was raining)… maybe next week.

just wondering what kind of gas mileage this car gets…how many litres is the tank and how many km’s per tank…

well, because the odometer and tripmeter on the JDM cluster hasn’t worked since the swap, i don’t exactly know how many km’s/tank i’m getting.

however, i know that i drive ~ 500 km’s/week to work and back and i can easily do that on a tank. keep in mind though that i have the car tuned (leaned out) with an SAFC2 and AEM Wideband O2… and i’ve removed quite a bit of weight from the car.

i’d say it’s great on gas… even when boosting!
