Description:
NOW YOU TOO CAN TELL YOUR FRIENDS YOU HAVE CRABS! :stuck_out_tongue:

So I put these up for sale awhile ago, decided to keep 'em and gave a few to my sister. I’ve had them for almost 2 years (give or take a couple of months) so it’s hard letting them go. 5 Hermit Crabs in a thriving mini-eco system. I keep empty shells around the enclosure so they can change when they feel free to. Currently in a 20gal that holds water. Heating through a UTH, temps and humidity is stable, hermit crabs are all very happy.

They range in size, species, and even temperment, there are a few that love to be held, a couple which hate it, but they’re all very active at night, and during the day. They don’t eat much, just toss in a piece of food, any kind really, and they eat it.

The tank is in good condition, a few nicks nothing to affect the performance of the tank. There are a few hides to keep the little guys happy, and alot of obstacles to climb. It includes a sliding glass lid, but I’d recommend something a bit more robust, a lid made for a 10gal will fit.

What’s included:
Hermit Crabs (duh) ($9.99 each)
15tall gal tank. ($40)
Glass lid ($30)
Coconut Hut ($15)
Homemade bubbler dish [freshwater]
Small Water Dish [for saltwater] ($15)
Food dish (actually also a shell)
A few extra shells & accesories
Box of about 5/8 full salt (for the salt water supply)

What’s needed:
Just add a UTH, and some water treater ($3 bottle will last about a month) and you’ve got everything you need. Hygromometer and thermometer also needed, but you can just as easily grab a digital one from home depot.

Caresheets can be found on google. Any more questions can be directed through PM, or to my e-mail, found by PM-ing me.

Full setup.

Size comparison. Only 4 crabs pictured in the album, fifth is currently molting right in the middle of the tank (in the sand). Just a comparison, he’s about to size of my palm.

Please note, they do not transmit or carry any diseases, so they would be a perfect pet for those who have small children, just don’t let them hold it right away, they might get pinched.
Asking 80 OBO I’d love to see these guys go to someone who’ll give them all their attention. These will also need to be picked-up, I won’t be meeting anywhere.

I’ll take $40 if taken before Wednesday! Will include UTH that needs to be duct taped onto the side.

How often do you need to clean the tank?

I’ve always done a deep clean every month. That means completely replacing the substrate (sand). It’s about a 8 bucks for a bag of play sand at Home Depot. Lasts for two months for me.

Mind you, if you spot clean everyday, you’d be able to pull off about 2 months between deep cleans. I spot cleaned once a week, just because I like it when they mess around the tank. At the same time I deep clean I disinfect with a 1/1 mix of vinegar and water.

As you can tell, fairly easy upkeep, feeding is REALLY simple, toss some food in, take it out at the end of the day. Keep their water up, and you’re fine.

Someone take my crabs!
