i have a sig pro (sp2340) in 357 sig that i’m selling to fund my ar15 build if anyone’s interested. it’s pretty much like new with the original case, 2 10 rd clips, 2 grips, cleaning rod w/brush, the orignal trigger lock, and manual. it has about 3-4 boxes through it. it’s an awesome gun, but i just never shoot the thing so i’d rather it go to someone that will use it than collect dust(stays locked in the safe so really no dust. this is the polymer framed sig with stainless slide with the nitron(black) finish. i’d like to get 425 out of it since i paid almost 600 when i bought it new. you can change it to fire .40 ammo by buying the .40 barrell for around 130-150.
there’s a lot of good info on it in this article, since not a lot of people talk about them too much. everyone’s stuck on the metal frame pistols and bash them with no knowledge of them at all other than they’re polymer frames.
i found a great deal on a complete stag lower that i’m using as the base to build on. i’ve been looking a a lot of different upper assemblies, but may start one from scratch to get what i want. i’d like to go with a flat top upper, 16 or 18(haven’t decided yet) stainless barrell, free float setup (haven’t really decided on exactly what yet). i’m not in a rush to put it together so i’m just going to take my time and get the parts as i decide or find good deals. i’m basically just building it because i just want to, haha. don’t really have a purpose for it other than probably taking it to camp with me and raising some hell with it, and going to the range to waste some ammo. maybe i’ll find a state that’ll let me hunt with it and go give it hell or something.
all i know is that when it’s done, i’ll be ready for any zombies that invade western pa.
$425 and i’ll buy another box of ammo. right now i have about 1/2 a box of remington hollowpoints left for it also.
i took this to camp last year with a friend of mine that just came back from iraq. he had some smaller pieces of the kevlar body armor that they wore, and we were testing them out with our different pistols(we only really used the kevlar armor pieces that covered the crotch area, but noone had the balls to wear them while we tried it, haha). he had a 9mm, and a .40, and i had this 357 sig. the body armor has a few layers to it. there is an outer shell that holds the kevlar, then the kevlar, then a layer of padding.
his 9mm, barely scratched the outer shell. his .40 made it through the shell, but just left a black mark on the kevlar. the 357 sig with the hollowpoint made it through the shell, and started to dig into the kevlar, and the full metal jacket 357 sig actually was burried into the kevlar, and we had to cut it out.
if you want to put holes into something, this will do it and do it well.
i’m letting it go for the price of a ruger or smith & wesson, which will not touch this thing. Sig is one of the best quality firearms made.
