FS. Monte Carlo-blown Engine

For sale is my aunt’s 98 Monte Carlo, the motor has seized on her and she wants to get rid of the car now.
From what she has told me it has newer brakes and tires, and the car has 88k on it. She said it’s a southern car, and has no rust and interior is mint. I know pics sell but I haven’t had a chance to go over and take a look at it and get some pics of it. She has told me a price that is outrageous and I told her she will not get it and will not even write it on here to get laughed at, but anyways just finding out how much she might be able to get for this and if anybody could be possible interested…
Pics to come….

200?

LOL, people who dont know cars have high expectations of value. I bet that car will sit in her yard for a year or so… haha

200-500 tops.

Is it a z34? If so I had the same problem. She may have had a seal leak which is a 2 dollar fix but the whole thing has to be taken apart just to get to it.

I had a 95 z34 as my first whip and I absolutely loved it. One of the few cars I might consider over a pick up.

If it’s a 3.1l. I’ll give you $60 bucks for the starter, $30 if I have to pull it.

You’ll probably get:
$1000 if you put a junk yard motor in it.
$500 if you part it out on ebay.
$200 as is.

$200-$250

Just for our entertainment, how much does she want?

it is the 3.1 liter and i told her she would have a hard time getting 300. ill ask her about the starter if she says yes ill go pull it and shot u a pm.

1500 to 2000 cuz she says its so mint its worth that. but doesnt realize its worth that with a working engine.

She probably spent $25k on it new, didn’t she? Ouch.

no she bought it almost new id say back in 2000 or 2001 thats prolly why she thinks its still worth so much.

If she neglected the maintenance on the engine, what else was neglected? It’s pretty much scrap, or I can email a friend, he may offer $500.

well she says she just got brand new tires and brakes put on and the tranny shifs from the last time i was in it, let me know what your friend says and ill tell her shes has no other option or let it sit till she decides its worth nothing.

What options? Pictures? What does she want to get for it?

$500 or less. I bought a 96? grand am in 03? with a leaky head gasket for less then $500.

I’d really say $200-400 is expected.

A non running car is $300 or less IMO… does not matter what is new on it or anything its does not run

500 at the most in perfect shape. replacing that engine at a shop is multiple 1000s…

KBB Private Party value in good condition is $1,880.00

:gotme:

What is the body styling range on this car?
Is it the same style as the 2000s?

although the 2000s have switched up to the 3.4, so I assume not.
Would swap my girlfriendys motor in it… which she has 225k or so on her 2000… and… well, it sure as hell looks like it.

blah.
nevermind i guess.
