Testing Waters

Up for grabs is my Nikon D70 digital SLR camera. This ad is for the body only, no lenses! Check ebay for some great deals on lenses such as the 50mm 1.8f, 28-80mm Nikkor (used for the shot below), etc.

The camera recently had the CCD cleaned by Nikon in Richmond, BC when I was out there less than a month ago. I have the receipt to prove if needed.

Firmware is version 2.0, making it technically a D70s.

There are no blemishes on the camera what so ever…it’s MINT! No scratches on the screens or any burnt pixels. There is however a bit of dust in the view finder but it does not affect image quality at all.

Opanda clocks the camera at 25,684 actuations to date.

Here is an example of the shots this camera can produce, with a zoom in added to prove clarity:

Because of it’s condition, I’m looking to get $450 for it with a 2gig Sandisk Ultra2 card. Again, I can add the 70-300mm for an extra $100 if someone is interested. The reason for selling is because I am planning to do a lot of traveling and I want to move to a camera with a grip (D80 or D200) for the extra battery life and vertical shot ease.

Please PM me to discuss. Thanks.

Meant to add this above!

dam that’s a nice camera.

^Thank you. Now someone needs to make it their nice camera!

Firmwear does not make it a d70s it fixes the 5 area af
d70s advantages over the d70
Refined 5-Area AF System - with NEW All-Area Search
Nikon’s proven 5-area Multi-CAM900 autofocus system continues to feature a cross-type sensor
in the center, broad frame coverage, as well as the same class-leading low light detection and
convenient AF-assist illuminator that aid shooting in dark situations. New for the Nikon D70s
are refinements to deliver greater precision with fast, more consistent subject acquisition and
improved focus tracking when using Closest Subject Priority Dynamic AF or Dynamic AF mode
with predictive focus tracking and Lock-on™. (See Nikon D70 firmware update info)

Increased TFT LCD Monitor Size - from 1.8-inches to 2-inches
Playback options on the new 2.0-inch LCD monitor include single frame, 4 or 9-image
thumbnail display, zoom with scroll (up to 4.7x), automatic slide show, histogram indication, and
highlight point display.
Remote Cord Support - with optional MC-DC1
The added option of using the new Remote Cord (MC-DC1) makes the camera more convenient
and even easier to use in a wider variety of shooting situations such as long exposures and closeups.
The optional Wireless Remote Control ML-L3 can also be used with the Nikon D70s.

Wider Coverage from Built-In Speedlight – now covers to 18mm
The built-in Speedlight automatically pops up and fires when natural lighting is inadequate, or to
add Balanced Fill-Flash when there is strong backlighting. A new, optimized design for the
Nikon D70s increases flash coverage to support lenses as wide as 18mm.

Increased Battery Performance - with new EN-EL3a rechargeable battery
The new EN-EL3a rechargeable lithium-ion battery increases energy capacity to shoot more
images while maintaining the same form factor as the EN-EL3 battery. The new Quick Charger
MH-18a is smaller than the charger it replaces, and is capable of charging both the EN-EL3a and
EN-EL3 batteries. When the need arises, the Nikon D70s can also be powered using CR2
batteries. (Requires the optional CR2 battery holder, MS-D70)

Enhanced Menu Display – easier to read
A new menu design combining a carefully selected color scheme, the right amount of contrast,
and larger fonts makes the user-friendly keywords of the menu displays easier to view and
quicker to recognize.

still a great great camera none the less this is a workhorse camera and built like a tank good luck with the sale

and by the way I have a D70s that is the only reason that i disagree with your saying basically a D70s
