FS: SOLD

1996 Geo Prizm
Toyota Corolla clone with a different name.
197K miles
1.6L I-4
5-speed manual transmission
slight exhaust leak, needs a new gasket between downpipe and cat, it’s not that loud which is why I haven’t bothered fixing it

I’ve had this car for just about four years now, bought it from the original owner. Runs great, 100% reliable. Just passed NYS inspection. Has a JVC CD player with detachable faceplate (also plays MP3 CD’s). Clutch is good. The car does not leak anything. Burns about a quart of oil over a few k miles. Tires are about 50%. Has snows up front. Just replaced water pump, timing belt was last changed at 170k. Battery is 2 years old, front brakes just done this summer, new windshield last year. I have all maintenance records from original owner (until about 165k miles), and more from myself.
Options are: a/c (works), rear defrost, intermittent wipers. Interior is in nice shape, a few scuffs, dirt spots here and there, but nothing major, no tears or anything in the seats or carpets. Never smoked in.

The bad:
Red, slightly faded paint.
Some minor rust spots around the wheel wells and front of hood. Never been in any accidents.
Rear passenger door does not open, and passenger front seat needs a new buckle mechanism for the seat belt.

Overall a very solid car that gets great fuel economy, and is totally reliable. Rated 31mpg city, 35 hwy (I have original window sticker).
Asking $1100 OBO

The last pic shows the most major area of rust.

I don’t know what it is about these cars, but I love them. My sister had one for her first car and it was awesome. GLWS and bump for a great little car.

Monday bump

fuck yeah prizm, these are great DDs, I loved mine til I blew it up(my own fault), comfy and resilient, glws

that must be the only geo that can rack up 200k and still be worth more than its scrap value  glws

They were really the only Geo that was worth buying. Basically a re-badged Corolla. Mechanically identical. It’s a great car, but after three years DD’ing it I’m moving on to something a little bit sportier.

Good Deal, Friend had one, definitly worth the investment. Good Price! GLWS
