Not really sure of the length but its pretty long has to be about 50’. not sure about thinness, it has .038 written on it. Anyway it would be good for some projects or make some jewelery. $40
.038 is like 19 ga
If you knew what kind it is, you could probably get more…
Is it magnetic?
I couldnt find my magnetic telescopic thing.
Yeah, what flavor?
Warning to anyone that cuts that banding: The stainless may be sharp and may want to “fly” open.
get the band aids ready.
Im gonna say not magnetic but I will check to make sure.
non magnetic I just checked
No Idea what type it is though?
If it’s 3xx series I’ll take it…
My metallurgy fails pretty hard here.
although I do know the 300 series is non magnetic.
Why do you have it/what was it used for/where did it come from?
Just trying to figure out what it was used for…
could give a clue ;\
found it in my garage.
lol, so uhm…
it just appeared there?
yeah I found it in my garage what’s so funny about that
i work with stainless steel mesh everyday and non magnetic is 304 and 316.magnetic tends to be 430.Thos are the most common ones i deal with
It was in my garage when I moved in. The old man had it in there, not exactly sure what he used it for. I was doing some spring cleaning and it was sitting against the wall behind some cinder blocks he left.
I also have some stainless steel that was used as old work are bench tops, there are three of them and I will get some pics up and dimensions tomorrow if anyone is interested. I was gonna make some work tables for my garage but not gonna do it now.
Edit: Went outside and took some quick pics.
They are dirty but would clean up nice. I have three of them.
Most common stainless is 304, 90% chance thats what it is
It could be though, 316 or 312 or 314, be worth a little more then.
400 series is Magnetic stainless.
Working at a junkyard you learn a few things ya know? lol.
Any takers?
Roll of stainless is SOLD, counter tops are still here.
you always seem to find the most obscure shit ha… free bump
