hey guys, Hotrodkid is over, however passed out asleep on my floor, and we were trying to get my tranny out last night to swap the clutch. the MTX-75 tranny is by far the largest tranny ive seen mounted to a 4cyl. we have to take out my subframe to fit the tranny out (haynes manual says so too). so we were trying to, and broke my socket. wait for slomies to get home from overnight shift, borrow his impact sockets. i get the subframe unbolted with his help. he goes home for nap. cant get HRK to wake up, need to get my driveshafts out and my intermediate shaft, then drop this bitch out. can anyone swing by like NOW? 472-8670. my name is nick if you dont know
if i wasnt at work i would come help ya. hope u get it figured out.
i got it all figured out, boy was that the hardest tranny pull i ever did. the tranny is bigger than my motor. christ.
isn’t that the same gearbox in the CSVTs? holy overkill.
isnt the ctsv tranny a 6speed ?
this ones a 5 speed, but one of which is survining just fine as thetrannyin a 600hp focus thats used for street / strip / dyno flogging
only upgrades to that tranny are flywheel, clutch and lsd
i love how theres an inch of clearance between the pulleys and the pass side frame, and i cant even gt my fingers between the tranny and the drivers side frame rail :bloated:
the CSVT i THINK has the getrag 6speed as also used in focus SVT’s. this is indeed the same transmission used in the jag x-type however, and the duratec V6 cougars as well
yes the CTS-V’s tranny is a six-speed (T56?), but the CSVT is most certainly a five-notcher.
I think you need some more sleep
oops lol, i thought you were talking aobut the contour SVT…C_SVT
I was, man I sound like a prick though
the MTX-75 is the only stick used in 'Tours. (including “CSVT”, contour SVT) it was also used in the cougar, mystique, and the focii.
the cadillac CTS-V has a tremec 6-speed and nothing to do with this thread.
carry on gents
o gotcha, HRK was the one that was outta the loop lol. yeah its the same, and yeah holy overkill, but im glad, because its cheap to get it to handle any amount of power you could possibly put down in a foci
hey, only $895 for a quaife that’s really not bad considering mine retails for almost $400 more…
^^ teehee i know, and i already just did a stage 3 SPEC clutch that can handle 339ft/lb…
