Saw this on AOL.com today. Google apparently is making a computer that cost $100 so that people in developing countries can have a computer. This computer has no OS or HD.

“If you are going to go have people share the computer, get a broadband connection and have somebody there who can help support the user, geez, get a decent computer where you can actually read the text and you’re not sitting there cranking the thing while you’re trying to type,” Gates said.

Wasn’t a similar idea conceptualized about 10 years ago where homeless were going to be given laptops to help get out of the situation they were in?

that’s very nice of them BUT!!

i think thats a great idea, computer > cowpies… if thats what i think it is, the crank just tensions a spring and a spring runs a generator, ive seen this in a couple of radios and they run from 30-45 minutes on 2 minutes of cranking.
