Gauging interest in Drift Event

Well, Tungsten, myself, and Wallace met last night over the possibility of setting up local drift events for the upcoming season. So far we have a few meetings with venues and have a lot of the key information (insurance, guidelines, etc) pretty much straightened out. What we wanted to post here for, was to see who, if any, from this site would be interested in attending these events.

The events will most likely run between $60-$80 (to cover insurance, venue fees, etc.). Vehicles will be limited to rwd only, and will be subject to a tech inspection. We are planning on open sessions at first, and if popularity grows, then we will move to actual competitions.

so, post if you think you are interested, as it stands we have roughly 15 in our group that would attend, and the price listed above is based on 30 attendees.

Ehh I’d deffinatly do it just to get some time in and learn the car a bit better

as of right now Im not that great, I can get her sideways for a bit but a nice open area to keep her sideways and link drifts would be sweet

I deff need some more sideways time and get a little better at controling it

I’d deff be down! 60-80 bucks aint bad for a legit place to burn off my tires

Shit I’m down for burning up crap tires but my 240 will probably never pass a tech inspection. I know I’m gonna have to stick a twenty spot in Jclarks wallet every time I go out on track with the guys just to be allowed :rofl

Can we make this relatively early in the season to I can minimize having to mount/dismount tires…basically I want to burn the tires I have on the wheels now, and then mount my new tires.

well as of right now we are shooting for whenever we can, it all depends on location and venue…anyone have any good ideas for venues btw?

is this your daily driver or do you have another diff? because that would suck driving a completely locked diff

I appreciate it, and actually we discussed that we would at first try and run it like an autocross event, where everyone kind of lends a hand if needed.
