Gauging Interest: Spec V Performance Parts

Well I just sold my Camshafts for $400(usd) so that should give you an idea of what you can get for your Nismo’s but you might make less (or maybe a bit more) The Nismo’s are more money, but anyone who knows the cams very well know that JWT makes the Nismo’s and they are very slightly less aggressive than the JWT. Anyhow good luck.

Juets why do I see that you are trying to pawn off your lease?Don’t like the Spec anymore?

Well, first off the Nismos are slightly less aggressive, but no one has dyno tuned them back to back on the same motor so no one is sure how much less power they make. Personally, I’m sure they must make between 1-3 HP less than the JWT’s. Secondly, they don’t cause the SES problems that have plagued the JWT cams either. I like having my SES light work properly so if something does go wrong, you know about it.

I still think I can get more for my mods. Don’t forget the bulk of my mods haven’t seen much more than 10 or 15 thousand klicks worth of use. My cams for example, were installed at 17K, so they only have 12K on them. You’ve driven your car a lot more by comparison.

Hey guys haven’t been on here ever since the accident. I got here back tho, so I’m happy again

How much for the Greddy exhaust, and is it a 4 inch tip?

Mike,

Do you have that header yet?

Hey Nick, I got it a long time ago, I was putting it off until I got an exhaust, and then I was waiting for a ghetto sim. It finally came in 2 days after my accident.

I know you offered to help do the install, and I appreciate it, but I think I wanna do it myself. More of a convenience thing, not saying I don’t trust your workmanship.

I’ve also heard that getting motor mount inserts will help prevent cracking of my header.
A reliable source also told me that Mopac Auto Parts/Supply? is able to order them.

Any input?

No problem man, I’ve installed and removed the header on the QR a total of 9 times now so I def. know how to do it. Anyhow Contact Jamie at Powertech Performance (www.powertechperformance.com) and get their MMI they are much higher Quality then the Energy Suspension Motor mounts. Anyhow Kris What have you decided you gonna part your car or what buddy? :E

damn of course your parting out all your suspension stuff now, when i cant buy!! argg, i hate not making money! oh well haha, how much for your short shifter though?? and by the way, really what you should do is just swap a VQ in there, i mean really just do it :partyman:

Nope, haven’t found a car just yet, but the search is narrowing!

Exhaust should be around $550, cheapest I’ve seen in Canada is $850 not shipped with no Tax.
Short shifter should be $70, paid $92 for it.

I also have motor mounts, but I have no idea how to get them off the car. If you help me remove them, I’ll sell them really cheap.

When I decide to part, I’ll take lots of pics for everyone so they can see what they’re buying. Edmonton guys will get top priority and I’ll give them more time to come up with money before I sell elsewhere. Believe me, if I source a GT-R, everyone is going to know.

I would love to do the VQ, but I just don’t have the money that would be required. I mean, considering I don’t own the car yet, all the time it will take to amass the parts and the 7K I’d have to spend seem a little much.

Looks like I’ll be the Only mod of the FWD Chat when the Gt-R Happens 8). No it makes perfect Sense Kris, but in my mind buying a 15 year old car versus say keeping ALL your parts and adding say a Supercharger seems more logical but hey to each his own right.

I’’ be your new mod Partner nick :E

One might think of it that way, but considering that the intended use of my car is a summer car anyway and that I can put myself ahead of the game by financing a car as opposed to leasing, it tends to make more sense. Plus, the GT-R was built for F/I…something the Spec can’t lay claim to.

It won’t necessarily be a match made in heaven - I mean, I know I’ll be slower around the NECC tracks with a GT-R than the Spec, but I just think it’s time for something different. Now, if someone only figured out how to RWD the Spec 5…

You want the blue prints… i really have to much time…

Nice. I’ll believe you when I see the Altima drifting around a corner with the rear tires blazing! :E

:werd:

:werd:
But… damn i dont have the money for that… or time to get bluebird parts in… One day… one day…

I can’t use any of the Spec-V’s power mods on my SE, but for the suspension stuff… giddy-up!

Anyway, if I’m not too late, I’ll call dibs on:

Nismo Front Sway Bar
Nismo Rear Sway Bar
Nismo Lower Tie Bar

Depends on timing though. If it takes too long this summer I might just end up buying the RSB and LTB new.

Not sure about the following, but might consider some of these as well:

Nismo Strut Tower Bar
Nismo Bushing Kit + Control Arms (Never installed, brand new in box)
Nismo Suspension

OK. When I find something decent to buy, I’ll post up here so NECC guys get first dibs on the parts.

Wow you really are nice. :finga:

Wow you really are nice. :finga:
WTF man??

It’s joke!!! :partyman: We will rock, paper, scissors on who gets Kris’s parts.
