may stop in at some point this week…
if not this week then next weekend.
i need to stop in for a leather cleaner and a sealant. Also need a good wax. any rough ideas on what i should look to spend for some of this stuff??
x2 on this. i’d also be interested in something to clean alcantara properly & very nice wax. Meguiars i’m really not impressed with.
Poorboys Natty Red for wax. $25.00 a can.
The Pinnacle signature series of wax is good, but pricey. $50.00 a can.
If you’ve heard of P21s, they have a wax that works wonders. My wife uses it on her car because it really really compliments dark colors, and black is definitely a challenge. The wax is $31 per container, and it’s 100% carnauba, so it’s high shine.
For the sealant, did you mean for your paint? Sorry, you said it after the leather cleaner so I wanted to make sure…I know you know that though.
sometimes u make me
Definitely, looking forward to seeing you. Your comment about the Meguiar’s is dead on though…Here’s what I learned about Meguiar’s: They have a few different lines of products, one of them is a professional line, the others are more mainstream I believe. The bottle we’re used to seeing is packaged in red bottles - the kind you can buy anywhere, and most of that line has silicone in all of it. Of course, silicone + car = BAD
Then there’s another line, a professional line that is in a beige bottle that has no silicone anywhere in the products. So anyone who buys the bottles off the shelves of a ‘normal’ store is getting silicone and it’s eating paint and rubber.
Then there’s the black bottles and NXT, I don’t know anything about the NXT, but buyer beware with all of that silicone floating around. lol

Awesome, look forward to it!!
The red bottle (cleaner wax) i belive isnt all that great… I use gold class as a cheaper wax and it seems to do a very nice job.
There are much better waxes out there…
Its amazing what a good wax can do for a cars paint… a car such as mien inst in the greates shape but a quality polish/wax can make it look like a complete different car and almost take your eyes off the defects
I definitely agree… you have to be so careful now. Hell, everything is going down the shitter; lower quality, same price as before, and usually worse somehow. It’s just easier and cheaper for them to manufacture. What the hell do they care?
The fact is your paint is made of oils and they have to be replenished and taken care of. Molecularly speaking this is incredibly important for maintenance. Not to mention the nice barrier wax and other products make. Protection is key, and you’re right they definitely help visually.
These days the stuff you find everywhere is usually death in a bottle, but I’m also noticing that companys aren’t necessarily putting ‘contains silicone’ on their labels anymore. Everytime I looked @ a bottle of tire shine out there it always said that.
Now I feel like you can’t trust any mainstream product - like Amorall and 3M. Amorall is some scary shit, and 3M put silicone in everything this year - they just started that, they actually didn’t used to. How nice was that? It’s ridiculous out there and you get what you pay for, that’s for sure. Very scary.
Then car TV shows promote the shit UGH
Hey Wayne
PS - I meant to go back and tell you to just be careful with the Alcantara. There aren’t over the counter products that you can just buy off the shelves. I know it’s not real suede but you have to be really careful with it almost as if it were suede.
So you can’t spray anything on it, and you can’t get it wet. The bext non-specialized way to clean it is to use a clean cloth and get it slightly damp…emphasis on the slighty. Use that to lightly rub the surface. When it dries use a brush to stand up the material again (kind of like suede)…
I believe there are special products out there made by the manufacturer of Alcantara but I have no idea how expensive they are. I mean for everyday maintenance using a cloth weekly to monthly will probably suffice. But it doesn’t need ‘treatment’ like leather does.
Anyhow, that’s my 2 cents How’ve you been, I haven’t seen you in a while?? Stop down soon, k?
