Meh…he bought one of the late model 200 Quattro two piece manifolds with K26 flange and kept it stock turbo. Was sticking with CIS but now going EFI. K27HF slated for a 930 would be nice, but that’s still dated wheel technology and at that rate I might as well drop in a Garrett cartridge.
This car started as a cheap winter DD project and has now become one of those “hey, while you’re in there” type of builds…just in the wrong order of things.

Yeah…only because he can’t afford to sink $4K into having me adapt the system to Autronic. The 034 setup while not the greatest thing going in the EFI world, is a relatively cheap and reliable drop in EFI system for the car. It’s essentially plug and play FWIW.
Yea, his 200Q is quite a mint pearl white piece isn’t. When I drove down to CT to look at it with him I was hoping he wasn’t going to take it because I would have right then and there.
034 is full standalone. The only thing plug and play about it is they have ready made harness for most VAG applications. It is as well built and feature rich as Autronic is. It might be a better value feature for feature when compared to Autronic but it is by no means cheap. 034 has more 5 cylinder Audi EFI know how that anybody. I can’t think of a reason why someone would pick any other system for one of these cars.
I know, I’ve use them multiple times over on this exact application(10V I5 turbo) on my customers rally cars. PnP meaning they sell a complete package for the I5, hence the FWIW. And when I said cheap I meant $$, not quality. I wouldn’t let JVG put garbage on such a clean 200Q, especially one that I have ~100+ hours into building. My only gripes with the system is the tuning interface, and ignition resolution. I’m just not 100% fond of it when compared to the like of Autronic or OBR. Hell I used 034’s product on my Avenger back when I was forcing 25lbs of boost down it’s throat due to the cost effectiveness of their systems.

034’s ignition resolution is 1/4 a degree I can’t imagine how much better it could be.
OBR in 10ths , but then that’s one of many reasons why they’re running around on LMP’s, IRL, F1, DP Rolex, etc.
Every system has it’s place. 034 SII certainly fits the bill for the market they have, there’s no denying that. I’m just too finiky I guess, and too stubborn to boot, to like the system all together.
Maybe I’ll change when it comes time to wrap it up in Jon’s car, who knows.
