Step 1 - Lose your seasonal plumbing job
Step 2 - Unemployment
Step 3 - Bitch about democrats giving handouts
Step 4 - Buy rifle
Step 5 - ???
Step 6 - Profit
Once you figure out step 5 you’re golden.
^lol. <3 off topic… lol
Call you local plumbers and see whos hiring. Or try a trade school for it.
Already did that. I went for a ride along assessment with one of their guys. It went really well, he said he was very impressed with me, unfortunately things are going very slow for them right now (its that time of year) so they are no longer hiring right now.. Tony said he will call me as soon as they get shit moving again (no pun intended).
I am like NYSPEED’s village idiot lol. But at least I admit it, and that’s the first step towards recovery.
There ardent really many places hiring for plumber apprentices/helpers right now. You could always try the New York State Employment web site. They have some stuff on there, but you need some experience. You could always try the Plumber’s union (local 22 out of Orchard Park). http://www.ualocal22.com/
This is a slow time of year for plumbers as the ground is still frozen and it is hard to do a lot of installation work, especially with the frost line and it being very difficult to hand dig. I started off at Darien Lake, worked in the maint. dept. for 2 seasons and actually learned A LOT. It is a commercial outfit, but they do everything from residential (toilets, sinks, showers etc) to sewage treatment and installing new water lines and drains etc. Doesn’t pay very well, but you get a lot of good general experience to learn the basic ins and outs.
If you can’t make it as a plumber you might make it as a media correspondent.
DId you go to school for plumbing? If not, what did you to get a job? I applied at the local 22 but did not get the apprenticeship becuase i do not have experience. I was ranked 19 out of 60 or something around there.
