I’ve done more street racing in my day then anyone on this forum. Back in Tucson, the car hangout nights were EVERY Saturday ALL year long. I did this for years. Won most of the races in my Supra(s) but I did lose a couple also…
Now, 6 years ago, If I would have had this Corvette, I’d have the boost as high as possible and be wanting to race Ray and whoever else around that would be a good race. I think of street racing now, and tell myself “that could cause rock chips on the front of the car”.
I’m almost 30 years old and have apparently turned into a walking vagina. I’m excited about a car show that I’m entering on Sunday, which I’ve never really been into. I have over 3000HP of fast cars here between my Vette, Mustang and fathers car and all I care about is the best wax on the market. Want to hear something ultra gay? I bought little socks that go over my mirrors on the vette that protect them from bugs. I’ll post pics of the gayness in a few minutes.
Not saying that I’ll never street race again, but I guess the edge is gone. What’s funny is that my 78 year old father owns a Camaro that’d wax almost (if not all) cars on here from a dig on the street. Guess it runs in the family.

Same material is on the nose of the car but I thought the mirror ones were funny. It’s a badass bra for highway driving and the material does not damage the paint like traditional ones. Kind of like a mega strenth womens pantyhose heh
Cars were made to be driven man, although I can’t blame you for being anal when it comes to something as awesome as your C5. You only live once, you should enjoy it before you get even older. :ohnoes lol
ehh, cant be mad. id do the same thing. if my paint wasnt thrashed already id get the 3m clear bra. next car… but atleast you know when it comes time to pull up your skirt, youve got the right tools for the job.
it has traction issues being a terrible platform, but it traps 126.
last year 11.9 @ 124, this year i havent been back on drag radials yet, best was 12.3 @ 126.
i goes from 70-160+ pretty good though :lol just as i’ve gotten a bit older im starting to see the consequences of going that fast, and the chances that everything runs fine and i have no problems will/can eventually run out. I’m looking into a S2000, so i can have a better all round car, and not be tempted to hit 170 whenever possible.
id like to see a dig of you and the stage 3 S4… and im sure hed be down for it. hes off work next weekend so if the weather is nice and youre up here, lets see what we can make happen.
No dig racing for me. If anyone complains, that’s fine-I’ve got nothing to prove at this point in my car ‘career’. In fact…forget that I mentioned racing in this thread. If I get the wild hair to race someone, they will know…
i’d totally be down, i just need to get the new tires on and make it to the track once before they are bald, after that i’m game. i def would like to meet ya in person and see one of your cars, make sure to let me know next time you are gonna be comin down, i didnt know it was such a long drive for you so i’ll try to make it out. :nod
i wouldnt say its a getting old thing…its a perfection thing
to have a fast, great looking, head turning car is nice…its even better, if they are always kept like brand new condition. I wash my SS every single day almost…if theirs really any dirt on it, I hafto wash it or it hurts me lol (gay, I Know) where as I used to be this way with my Race quad…now its still muddy from the last motocross race, and sitting in the garage on a flat tire and I havent ridden it, in literally 2 months, since its kinda been replaced in the fun factor with my SS.
side note: If I had a TT Z06, you bet your ass I would be doing/worrying about the same things as you.
also, I think you, swifty’s civic and the cammed/nitrous C6 Z06 would be one hell of a sick race!
