IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING EVENT #1 ON MAY 9TH
As the PITL Series is hosted at the Home of the Mississauga IceDogs, the Hershey Centre, there is a possibility
the first PITL Event may have to be rescheduled should the OHL Finals reach a Game 6.
While an answer may be had as early as the evening of May 5th, you may not know until late Friday the 7th a Game 5 is played.
So what do you do? Well, the PITL webmaster isn’t going to be around to update the site to tell you, so you’ll have to check

UPDATE - March 4th, 2004
Rules and Regulations have been updated for 2004 on the SOLO 2 Ontario website.
See http://www.solo2ontario.com site for details.
INTRODUCTION
A SOLO 2 event consists of competitors driving through a ‘race course’ laid out using pylons
on a large parking lot or other paved surface. Because the vehicles race independently of each other,
at no time can there be contact with another competitor, thus reducing the risks considerably, and
allowing the drivers to concentrate on threshold braking and precision cornering. Each run is
electronically timed, and the fastest driver in each class is the winner.
REQUIREMENTS
First thing you will need is a valid driving license. Next, your vehicle of choice must be road worthy,
in that it should be safe to drive on the road, with working braking, lights, steering, and no leaks or safety
restricting malfunctions. As well, you will need a Snell M-95 or newer rated helmet (no DOT).
If you don’t have your own helmet, some clubs will offer loaner helmets.
To read the rules and regulations of SOLO 2 in further detail, visit the SOLO 2 Ontario website.
HOW TO GET STARTED
Before you start joining clubs, or start heavily modifying your cars, first check out the SOLO 2 Ontario
website and read through its rules, regulations as well as participate in its online message board, to
first learn more about this organization. This will give you a better perspective of how the sport is
run as well as how to participate in its events and various clubs.
The simple way to get started is to join an existing SOLO 2 car club. To see a list of existing SOLO 2
car clubs in Ontario, visit the SOLO 2 Ontario Car Clubs website. Most car clubs will
have a website that will provide you with enough information on events, rules, regulations.
If you live near Toronto, a great club to join is the RX-7 and Mazda Sportscar Owners Club with their
SOLO 2 club Push It to The Limit (PITL).
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST
Most clubs will require an initial membership registration, anywhere between $25 to $50. This membership fee
will provide you with such things as:
- Reserved car number for the entire season
- Points towards class and the overall series championships
- Trophies for the top placing competitors
- Eligibility for sponsor contingencies, as well as win sponsor prizes
- Apparell such as T-Shirt
Aside from the initial registration cost with most car clubs, an event will cost anywhere between $20 and $40.
Once again, you will have to find out the specifics on this, from the club you wish to join.
** NOTE **
Not every club will provide such member benefits or will have those exact membership or event prices.
You will have to contact the club or visit their website and learn about what the club has to offer.
GETTING STARTED WITH PUSH IT TO THE LIMIT CAR CLUB
The PITL car club holds its events approximately once every 4 weeks (basically once a month). Their initial
membership is $25 which will provide you with several benefits and reservation.
STEP 1) VEHICLE AND DRIVER PREPARATION
It is strongly urged that you completely check over your car for any problems (i.e. oil leak, etc.). As well, do a complete
engine maintenance, check your brakes (pads, etc.), steering, belts, oil, coolant, safety (seatbelts, etc.), tire pressure,
alignment, and other necessary adjustments you feel will make your car handle and perform better.
Also, inveset in a helmet. If you wish to compete only in SOLO 2 and have no intention of progressing to SOLO 1 for example,
then a SNELL M-95 or newer rating motorcycle helmet will suffice. If have a roll-cage in your car, and/or are using
non-D.O.T. rated tires, you will need to invest in an SNELL SA-95 or newer rating racing helmet.
If however you wish to get into SOLO 1 later on, and can afford to spend a little extra, invest in an SA-95 or newer rating helmet
(required if you are running a rollcage and non-DOT tires). Otherwise, an M-95 or newer helmet will suffice for both SOLO 1 and SOLO 2.
Read the rules and regulations governing these classes if you want further information.
See the Important Links and Addresses section to find out where you can purchase helmets.

can bring it to an event and submit it there.See the Important Links and Addresses section.
STEP 3) VISIT OPEN HOUSE
The Open House is a great way to learn about the club, meet some of the members, as well as register yourself.
The Open House for 2004 is: Saturday, April 10th, 2004 (Location - T.B.A.)
STEP 4) VISIT AN EVENT
The PITL club holds its events at The Hershey Centre which is conviniently located at the north end
of Mississauga, near Brampton. It is very close to the 403/QEW as well as the 401.
Registration runs between 8:30am and 9:30am, and competition starts following a drivers meeting at 9:45am.
Registration after 9:30am will result in a penalty fee of $10.
Cost per event is $30
