sorry for your loss man
Sorry to hear dude. If it weren’t for the pain it would seem kinda surreal, like a dream, huh?
Sorry to hear man.
Not good
sorry for your loss.
Im so sorry to hear that man.
thanks guys
in the time he was in the hospital he suffered 3 heart attacks, about 5 episodes of MRSA pueumonia, about 4 episodes of regular pnuemonia, reoccurant C-Dif infections and his kidneys had shut down and he was getting regular dialysis treatments, this is of course on top of being on a ventilator and having to get a peg-tube, not to mention last week they told us he suffered brain death and would never wake up again (he did wake up and was talking and drinking his favorite drink, diet coke)
My dad did spend a good deal off time off the vent (on O2) and was able to talk
I saw him suffer so horribly and watched him regress physically
he NEVER at any point complained and was usually upbeat when we spoke and generally kept the conversation to daily bullshit and was more concerned about me than himself
If I can be half the man my dad was I should make out well in life
My dad in his younger years was a avid car guy and won many trophies at Lancaster, he ran everything from a Ford Starliner convert to a 66 Ford Fairlane 390 4speed Vert to a 69 428 Cobrajet Mustang with the dragpak option and a 4 speed
He also was a diehard Bills and Sabres fan in good times and bad (mostly), we often shot the shit about football and it pained both of us to see the Bills go south so quick this season
As he promised his dad on his deathbed I also swore to look out for my mom as long as I shall live
My dad always stood behind me 100% and loved me unconditionally 100%, he was one of my best friends in this world, I am very lucky to have been his son
Its very sad to lose him but I would like to think hes in a place now where life can no longer hurt him…
Sorry to hear for your loss look on the bright side though and think of all the good times had. I wish I could say the same for my biological father.
thanks man, I do, I am VERY lucky to have had him for a dad, I was a asshole kid and I think my life would have turned out alot differently had he not displayed such endless patience and love for me
Im sorry to hear this Tim. As stated, remember the good times and the fact that he was able to fulfill his wish of seeing you grown.
Sorry for your loss.
Things will get better as time goes on… I hope that happens sooner rather than later for you. My condolences.
Wow…I dont know you and havent ever met you in person but just reading this leads me to believe you are a stand up guy and a class act and usually that apple doesnt fall too far from the tree.
Sorry for your loss but it sounds like he will live on with you forever and you will live in his memory.
thanks man
Sorry for your loss. I hope all the best for you, your family, and all those who knew your father during this time.
sorry to hear about your loss man.
 I’m very sorry to hear that man.
Sounds like he was a good man, and from all the shit he’d gone through before the end, a fighter, I am sorry for your loss
I need to swing by the house tomorrow and see my dad, I was there today demanding help with a friend’s Golf Mk3 and barely even thanked him…maybe i’ll help him build the MkII GTI Model kit i bought him for his b-day a few weeks back…
Terrible. It’s awful that he had to go through all that. I’m sorry to hear. Hang in there man.
I’m glad to hear that you got to talk to him before his passing and shoot the shit with him one last time. He sounds like a very strong man and a fighter to the end. I had a couple tears after reading what you wrote above because thats exactly how me and my father are and I don’t know what I would do without him. Once again, I’m very for your loss and wish you and your family the best throughout the holidays.
Sorry for your loss
I almost lost my dad this year to cancer and it was a very tough time for me to handle. It sounds like you had the same kind of close relationship with yours as i do mine, like best friends. I can’t imagine what you are going through, but look at the positives, you had an amazing relationship with him and it sounds like he raised a good, standup guy
I wish you the best during these tough times…
