Installing the pump onto my motor. It came with no pulley on it.
The pump going on there is from a 98-02 F-Body.
The (metal) pulley is coming from donor pump, which is off an '03 Express van.
Are these just press on pulleys, or is there any physical hardware (a bolt) that holds the pulley to the pump shaft? The inside of the shaft is threaded, but is this only used for installation, or does a bolt stay in there to hold the pulley on? The van pump shaft is pretty corroded and it’s tough to tell if a bolt belongs there to hold the pulley on. I assume most General Motors power steering pulleys are the same/similar from the mid 90s up…
Did some reading, it seems that there’s obviously a puller tool you can rent to pull the pulley off, but how do you install it (short of threading in a bolt and tightening the shit out of it to pull the pulley on)?
