After the first half of the year Toyota had a pretty solid lead. People made comments like “GM will never take back the title”. To close the gap and take back the lead, plus put together a pretty monumental agreement with the union is one hell of a 3rd quarter for GM.
I agree GM is still heavily incentive based, but so is Toyota’s large truck lineup. To get someone to try something new or to prove your quality is better you need to provide incentives.
