Good ankle braces

I injured my ankle in December playing basketball and I have not been able to play since because I was worried about it healing. I think I am ready to play again, but want to get a brace. Is anyone aware of a brand that is quality and will keep me from re-injuring it while I am playing.

i always found the one with the lace to give the most support, you can make it the tightest

i did the same in early fall, they gave me one of those velcro aircasts which i wear when i’m playing dek hockey. i just don’t want to “roll” it over again.

my ankle brace can’t go farther than 250 ft from the house :nono:

I have terrible ankle’s and wore one of these all through college playing lacrosse, A lot of our basketball players wore them as well. They are incredible.

I have one of those & they are the best type IMO.

the lace up are OK to but don’t feel as comfortable.

my left ankle is bad…& what i did is i went to the good feet store in cranberry. got fitted for the “exerciser” type insert & its made a huge difference.
i use to have ankle pain in my left ankle all the time, & now its pretty much gone.
the main cause of ankle rolling is due to poor posture/ankle alignment which causes the ankle to be weak.
this insert aligns everything so the ankle stays very stable.

i recommend going to the store & trying them out…they will show you how its stabilizes your ankles.

now I wear the inserts with a basketball sneaker that has good ankle support preferable a velcro strap around the ankle &higher then a 3/4 top
& i have had no problems.

I just use my hands to hold them…

…wait what were you asking?

I have had 2 ankle surgeries and I am awaiting another. Each time i was prescribed an ASO brace. http://www.achillesmed.com/ . I think these are good braces and have worn them while playing football and other sports.

have you seen a doctor at all? they may perscribe some physical therapy. if you got insurance, use it, that why its there.

i came down of the side of my foot playin hoops in HS and i thought for sure it was broke… it took a whole year to heal… had i went to a doc it may have healed better with proper treatment… its nice to have a brace and feel secure but its band-aid to the problem… if you can strenghten ur ankle you wont need a brace over the long term. just ask ur doc.

exactly…

i’m tellin you guys… the orthodontics from the good feet store are worth the $
I was amazed. i’m pain free now & my ankle strength & stability are WAY better.

my ankle was so bad that even slightly uneven pavement would cause me to roll my ankle.

like i said…using it everyday has helped so much…& when playing B-Ball i have the orthodontic and a good ankle supportive sneaker & i’m all set.
