=> The bike has been garaged since Nov 06 on south campus garage, and hasnt seen snow or rain during the course of storage.
=> Before the bike was garaged, i was converting the rear tail of the bike to a 2000 ZX6R tail. As result, the rear fairings are missing, but it comes with a 2000 ZX6r tail to complete the conversion.
=> The engine, the frame and everything else is perfect shape, and the frame is polished.
=> The front fairing has a crack near the left indicator, and could be changed. You could get brnad new replacement front fairing for $289 from airtech.com for this model.
=> The ignition wiring is ripped off. I guess someone wanted to take the bike without my permission.
Free Stuff:
i will give 2 free helmets, one brand new.
I will give brand new2 Vance and Hines Titanium Exhauts pipes with the bike.
The bike already comes with 2000 ZX6r tail. I ahve the seats too, but i cant find them…
THe bike is not perfect right now, but with little effort it could be. I have realized that you would have to spend some money on the bike. so i hve kept the price really low. Keep in mind that the bike was being riden till july 06.
Things it needts to get it running.
THe only thing that it needs to get it runing is reattatch the ignition switch which is broken. The switch is $45 from freewheeling motorcycle in tonowanda.
That is it. Other than it needs the tail, which is your choice. you cn buy the oem part from ebay for abour $30 or finich attatching the 2000 ZX6r tail.upto you."
i can pick this up real cheap, sound like a good deal? i saw pics and it looks clean but i cant hear it run because of the switch being broken…
i personally hate buying projects… i had a 1986 ninja that was practically mint, minus being a 1986 (same style basically minus the tank) i paid 800 bucks for… with a broken ignition, missing tail, non-oem upper (airtech = normally a poor fitment) i wouldnt pay much more than 500 for that bike… if its your first bike and your not worried about it getting stolen (no ignition key needed to start it) i would say do it up… whats your definition of cheap?
EDIT: after rereading it more carefully… see if you can get it running… the switch is all that really needs to be replaced… its probably worth a g assuming the upper isnt trashed and the tail can be attached with minor effort
Wait, the igition wire is ripped off? Does the bike even run? If you can’t ride the bike home don’t pay over $500. And with it in that condition, take a very close look at the title. I.E. match the signature on the title to the signature on his license. :eyebrow:
did you just talk to him or something? or is he a buddy? where is this guy? he told me he needed it gone, obv not that bad i am trying to take it off his hands and he isnt returning phone calls?
thats kinda weird. i called him maybe 3 times today. and thats because i wanted to pick this up but he wasnt returning calls… i dont know what the deal is…
meh. i got mine only needing chain, sprockets, carb cleaning, and a few seals for $800. i could have ridden it as it was, I just wanted to step it up. mine was 4 years newer and it was also like 6 years ago.
