I have the WD Passport. It’s a notebook drive in it’s own sealed enclosure but it’s USB powered and decently fast. They max out at 320GB but they are ultra-portable and don’t have all the shit that comes with the 5.25" drives like AC adapters, etc.
Both out of stock. And the officemax coupon expired.
Heard bad things about Cavalry’s dying constantly. Looking for <150. That officemax deal was perfect but I didn’t see it in time.
Still looking for eSata. Real world data tranfers it’s a lot faster. Needs USB2 as well though since I’d want to be able to hook it up to my laptop now and then too.
Probably just sign up for email notifications from slickdeals and wait for another one of those $130ish deals.
Gawd, its like nothing I do is ever good enough for you…
Basically if you’re looking to buy right this second, ~$160 gets you 750GB. I’d be hard pressed to find 1TB under $200.
BTW, Seagate w/esata usb 2.0 same price-ish.
and the WD w/esata usb2. Thats a few more bones.
Ha… I’m just cheap. Well, that and I’ve seen 750’s for around $130 quite a bit at slickdeals and since I’m in no hurry I’ll just wait. Really I just threw this thread up in case someone sees a great deal so they go, “Hey, I know someone who was looking for one of these” and maybe they’ll post it here.
For an internal I wont spend more than $1/5GB.
