Good enuf rwd vs fwd to prove a point

http://www.corollaperformance.com/TechInfo/RWD.html

im def lookin into a rwd car after having to tear apart my noun :frowning:

No kidding, now jump on the 240 bandwagon already.

these are all things you should already know.

RWD will always own FWD in dry performance.
FWD will always have more all-season practicality.

mike last time i jumped on the 240 bandwaggon and found a nice project car i got flamed for it. and i aint goin 4cyl rwd im goin v8rwd

but i do have a 240soft spot. a nice s14swap in a fastback would be nice

Fuck it buy a bike.

v8 rwd is great.

torque + rwd is the funness

wrong

rwd is better anytime. fwd is for pussies.

How is FWD better for anything?

put 180lbs of weight in the back and some 225/60/16 tires on the back of a f-body and you have instant winter car. my firebird was used as a winter beater for 2 winters before i owned it and the guy never had a problem with it.

im thinkin 3rd gen firebird with ls1 6spd for my winter beater.

drivetrain loss.

i posted this before in a previous FWD vs. RWD arguement…

GrassRoots did an article about this… RWD, vs. FWD, vs. AWD.
3 cars were… WRX, RSX typeS, BMW 330i
all with same tires & did both wet & dry auto X’ing
5 runs in each conditon with each car.

everytime…they came in this order
WRX, RSX, BMW

of course type of car makes a difference but these are 3 that are decent to compare.

I’m not saying one is better then the other…they all have advantages & disadvantages.

comments:
WRX…easier to drive @ limits
RSX…most fun to drive
BMW…felt the quickest…but times didn’t show it.

and wagging :burnout:

Mac i know of 2 shells for youre 3rd gen buildup. blue jsut for you

RWD hooks alot better then fwd for drag
hell even Rwd will hook better then AWD if setup right

that’s because of the inherent nature of double wishbone suspensions…if you could make an awd setup that had 2 solid axles it would hook really good but most likely destory itslef
