Awd VS Rwd Vs Fwd

ok say you got 400 hp to the drive wheels. same weight car, but the only differences are stated above [rwd, fwd,Awd] which one would you think be faster
and state why you chose your answer

Rwd its just a better platform for planting that power. a typical 4 link or 3 link IMHO is alot better then the typical coilover FWD suspension. there isnt much for weight transfer and really hard to properly fit a good size meat under the wheel wells

i say whoever can get the car down the track faster wins. No matter if its rwd, awd, or fwd. Each requires it own talent and without it that 400hp is useless

but if the same diver used all the platforms i think RWD would take the win

+1

I think all else being equal it would be real close between the awd and the rwd. You said 400 horse to the wheels so this would take away the extra driveline losses with awd.

400 horse isn’t really that much to plant with good tires at the track. I think both rwd and awd could pretty much handle all of it equally well. It would be really close between those two with fwd a distant 3rd.

porno red owns you all

x2 thats why i voted porno red

I’d imagine AWD ought to win since driveline damage and vehicle weight aren’t a factor in this.

FWD has no chance unless it is on full slicks and the others aren’t. I say AWD since it will be able to launch harder

awd will get the holeshot, but will be drug down by drivetrain lose.

rwd will get good 60s and deliver power entire way

fwd will spin like a mofo, and have top end.

RWD, you still got great weight transfer to put power to the ground and you wont have the driveline loss like AWD to slow you down on top end.

yeah, but he us asking which on would be faster–not quicker. the fwd will have the awd covered trap wise by 15mph, and have atleast 10 mph on the rwd im guessing…

i own AWD, but I think RWD is a tad better.

FWD does blow balls without slicks … Id go with the RWD … awd does have too much loss up top through drive-line.

is that why i see civics rollin w/ slicks?

RWD will probably always be a dominant choice…

rwd will always be faster. given the right suspension setup.

there are no driveline losses it is 400 to the wheels not at the flywheel.

on street tires it awd all the way but on a prepared strip with slicks it is going to be neck and neck awd and rwd

I’ve owned all 3… My vote is for AWD.
