Because taxing multi-millionaires slightly higher than we are now is equivalent to 50% of the people working to support the other 50% that sits on their couch all day smoking pot and eating cereal while laughing at all of the free money they’re receiving.

now that all the ‘multi-millionaires’ were afraid to get their huge bonuses, there is even less income taxes collected… so the taxes on the rich are going to need to be significantly higher than now just to break even. idiocy at it’s best… you get paid when people pay income tax… so lessen everyones income why?

I agree. We need to drastically cut spending on stupid shit like our overseas military presence, reform health care and end welfare/social security, etc.
and then LOWER taxes on EVERYONE…

However, this nation and our government has decided that’s not the way they want to go. They want to continue to waste all of this money, and someone has to pay for it. Our capitalistic economy has sucked most of the wealth out of the lower and middle class, therefore the only people that have the money to pay for it are the rich people.
