This weekend I tok possession of a 1996 Subaru Legacy Outback. Bought it from a member on here for a great deal. :tup: to bluetwo.
Car is in awesome shape. Has only 101k on it, and drives like a new car.
2.2L of 5-speed fury. Balls slow, and takes some serious revs to get her going, but it’s Subaru’s bulletproof motor, so she’ll last a long time.
The ride on this car is awesome though. It smoothes out the bumps awesome, and handles very confidently. It’s not at all boring to drive despite having so little power. (135hp on a 3200lb car) It does park much differently than I am used to because it is much longer than the cars I am used to driving, but out on the road it drives awesome.
Interior space is ridiculous. Both seating, and cargo.
If this thing just had more balls in the engine department it would be absolutely tits. As it stands though, I def. recommend Outbacks to anyone looking for a solid handling, nice riding utility vehicle.
And no, you cannot beat on it in the winter. You can however enjoy the heated seats as I rip around.
